No idea why…discussing a major legal case in the Supreme Court. Was it because the poll was going the way some readers didn’t want?

Didn't see the thread but if legal proceedings are ongoing, there are limits as to what can be discussed online - there is a risk of speculation prejudicing a case.

gamerchick · 27/11/2024 21:45

Yeah there's some stuff we can't talk about when it comes to ongoing court stuff.**

Ramblingnamechanger · 27/11/2024 23:50

I referred to the court case as it has been discussed in the press, but only asked if I was being unreasonable in thinking the whole thing was ludicrous. Women overwhelmingly said I wasn’t being unreasonable. Still don’t know why it was removed.

Email MNHQ on contactus@mumsnet.com and hopefully you'll get an answer.

Contact MN privately by email and ask.

It's not a jury trial or a criminal case, the whole thing is being live streamed, and it finished today. I doubt prejudicing the case would be a consideration. It's a question of the specific meaning of words in legislation, not a whodunit, so nobody is going to be speculating about possible evidence or revealing details about the defendant.
