Adverts and site continually freezing and crashing

Is anyone else finding this to absolutely awful at the moment.
The site is freezing and crashing every time I attempt to load a new page.
I’m very sure it’s not my wifi.
It is beyond frustrating.

Can you check for me what your settings are set as?

I'd like you to go to Settings, Talk Settings and then look for a section under 'Thread posts' that says 'On threads show messages per page'. When you find that section, can you tell me what it's set to? I've attached a picture to help.

@allthemiddlechildrenoftheworld You are correct! We get most issues of crashing and freezing on 1000 posts per page. However, we have noticed some reports of issues like @Smartiepants79 . Can you tell me what device and browser you're on @allthemiddlechildrenoftheworld ?

@Smartiepants79 Super! I need to see if it's a similar issue we're seeing with other users, which is due to a setting in Safari.

Can you now try something on your iPhone settings:

Settings -> Apps -> Safari -> Advanced -> and turn off 'Privacy Preserving Ad Measurement'

If you could try the above and let me know if turning that off helps/doesn't help the crashing and freezing you're experiencing.

This seemed to make it better for a day or so but it’s worse than ever tonight. I’m sure it’s the bloody adverts.

Here to back you up OP. Been going on for weeks. Freezes then reloads back to the top of the page. I assumed it was to do with adverts trying to load so will look into the fix mentioned above.

Whether on not switching off ‘privacy preserving ad measurement’ fixes the issue here it looks like something we should look into doing anyway. Very sneaky apple update that I wasn’t aware of - it’s automatically set to on which means you have approved trackers to the ad companies. For that reason alone (sneakiness) I’ve switched it off.

I’ve had an issue for a long time where I can’t read a 1000 post thread until the advert at the side has loaded (the thread loads but doesn’t let me scroll and read until the advert has loaded).

I’ve just tested after turning this setting off and I can now scroll the threads before the adverts have loaded!
