Really really confused. This was a totally innocuous post on a very friendly thread. Why on earth does someone need to 'have a look at it'?

Maybe you used a banned word? What was the post about?

I replied to a few other posters to say their walk sounded lovely, I hoped they felt better from their cold soon and I hoped their dogs were doing ok.

Then I gave a short update that I don't have much work on this week and all I managed to do today was clean the kitchen and fold some laundry.

I didn't proofread so I suppose possibly autocorrect did something weird

I think it’s something to do with their spam filter. I had a very dull and boring post temporarily hidden and then reinstated and was told
it was the spam filter 🤷‍♀️

It's probably that.

MN seem to have upped their auto zap words.

the other day I wrote a post. Pressed send & it went straight to that message, I went to ask why, but it had cleared before I could finish the post. Re reading I still couldn't see why?

ligch in the matrix I assume

AuntieKraker · 07/11/2024 21:07

There are really random words which they have set as auto hide and so the entire post gets hidden until they check it.

Aria999 · 07/11/2024 21:08

Oh well, guess I'll wait and see if it returns 🤷‍♀️

Thanks

I had one like that the other day. It was a response to a parent concerned about their child taking a drug. I suspect because I replied and asked if it was a particular name of drug, that was the word that triggered it.

Aria999 · 07/11/2024 21:16

lol, it's back. Still can't see what was wrong with it (unless they have a new policy against overly banal posts 😁)

I'm not a mod or anything but I've had a quick look and couldn't see anything obvious except that you have tagged six other posters. I reckon it's that.

HebeMumsnet · 11/11/2024 10:53

Hi there @Aria999 ,

Sorry about this! We've had a look back and we can't see why it was hidden either. It may have been that our system misread something and 'auto' hid it but looks like it's back now anyway. Just drop us a line if there are any more problems with it.

IHaveNeverLivedintheCastle · 14/11/2024 00:48

I have just had a completely innocuous post on S&B about clothes suitable for the weather in Barcelona hidden.

Absolutely no banned words or offensive language.

coxesorangepippin · 14/11/2024 01:51

You can't say anything on here anymore

It's too heavily policed it's ridiculous

JoMumsnet · 14/11/2024 12:02

Hi IHaveNeverLivedintheCastle - sorry for any inconvenience caused. We've replied to your report about your post by now, and have also unhidden it.

Your post contained a word (and yes, it was a pretty innocuous one!) that happens to have cropped up in a lot of troll threads of late, so our system temporarily hides any posts that contain the word until we get a chance to check it out.

JuvenileBigfoot · 14/11/2024 13:00

How do we know what the banned words are!?

Singleandproud · 14/11/2024 13:04

One of them is the P-word slip on black shoe commonly worn in PE. There is a P-word troll.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 14/11/2024 13:05

I once saw a meme that said it helped if you considered that autocorrect was a very drunk elf, hiding in your phone - he is doing his best, but his spelling is not good because he's so drunk. Maybe the drunk elf is now working at MNHQ, auto-removing posts?

I found out what deeply problematic word I'd used was. It was ridiculous. An item of footwear commonly worn by me as I don't wear trainers.

I've reccommended this brand numerous times.

I got hidden once for recommending a brand of chewable multivitamins and calling them a word that rhymes with mummies. I felt very edgy, out here on the mean streets with my Berocca. 😂
