Strange inescapable screen

While I was on this topic page I got this screen and had to crash out of the site completely to get rid of it.

These things are usually “man in the middle” attacks so it’s quite concerning to get this so soon after all those adverts with the bloodied faced women keep popping up.

Can you let us know where this happened on site? A URL to the Mumsnet page you were on would be really helpful. We're keen to investigate so any extra information is really helpful, and thanks so much for the screenshot.

It was on this board while looking at one of the threads about the ads that show women with photoshopped disfigured faces.

Hi there @WingsofRain. We've had a look at this and we don't think there's anything to worry about. It looks like an ordinary ad rather than anything nefarious. If it pops up again, maybe don't click on it but let us know and send us a screengrab. If anyone else sees anything similar, please do post here, too.

Hi again @WingsofRain. It looks from your screengrab like you're not actually on Mumsnet when you to the screengrab. We're assuming you clicked on an ad you saw on a thread to get here. Do you happen to remember what the ad was for? That would help us invesitgate this further.

I was on the thread here about the simulated DV adverts and this screen popped up, it may indeed have been triggered by an advert because that’s how man in the middle attacks work, they hijack the advert. I didn’t click on anything, the popup appeared spontaneously and the only way to get rid of it was to close the browser.

I just had this one pop up while I was on page 10 of the Liam Payne thread on Chat, on Safari on an iPhone

Thanks all, we've blocked the URL visible in the screenshots but if they continue to come in, please can you let us know? And provide as much information (including screenshots) as possible.

I had one of these yesterday (didn’t take a screen shot) that claimed to be from Virgin Media, while browsing MN.

I’ve not had it again in the past few days, so fingers crossed it’s blocked now. 🤞🏻
