Please @MNHQ

I agree, it would be good to have the GE threads in one space so us "bores" who care about politics can find them easily.

AutumnCrow · 23/05/2024 10:08

I’ll live whatever the majority decide, with MNHQ in the Speaker’s Chair.

But please report suspected bots, AI-generated GE threads, trolls and party political shit stirrers anyway, as they are against talk guidelines and NITS.

IndependentUndefeated · 23/05/2024 10:14

Yes please.

Hi OP,

Thanks for raising this - we'll keep an eye on your thread to see what other users think, and we'll discuss it in the office this week.

Please do 🙏

I'm not suggesting a separate board in order to hide discussion about the GE. It would be good to have the threads all in one place rather than scattered over Chat and AIBU.

God! The bots are going to bombard us.

Having all the threads in one place seems like a very good idea to me, @RestlessDollyMaunder. I'd be happy if MNHQ did this, @LilyMumsnet.

Wendysfriend · 23/05/2024 10:27

The whole active page was completely full this morning with lots of posts. I appreciate this is a UK site but many from other Countries don't have forums like here and enjoy using MN. I have been hiding the threads but it's relentless .

NooNakedJacuzziness · 23/05/2024 10:56

Another yes vote here please

vodkaredbullgirl · 23/05/2024 12:52

Now for you to move them all.

RestlessDollyMaunder · 23/05/2024 16:08

You know when WW3 breaks out, people would just want a topic for that so they can ignore important conversations.....

cakeorwine · 23/05/2024 18:32

And you've only got people who actively posted in Site Stuff to make this request. You don't know what most MN users would prefer.

Sorry, I hope my comment didn't offend you - it wasn't aimed at anyone in particular.

Not sure reading threads are compulsory for any event

Thanks @BeckyAMumsnet

K0OLA1D · 23/05/2024 18:53

Definitely

BIWI · 23/05/2024 18:53

Having a separate board is great. But please @BeckyAMumsnet that really does mean that threads have to be moved to that board (assuming they're reported, I assume?)

Let’s be honest, most of the GE related threads on here are places where posters bitch and snipe at each other and exchange personal insults. None of it is about legitimate discussion, more about posting personal opinions and personally attacking posters who don’t agree, or accusing them of being bots/tories/part of the propaganda machine if they don’t agree or dare to have a different opinion

No, it didn't offend me. I used to work in politics and still find it really fascinating, but I know lots of people are bored by it and I can understand why. It is a failing of our system that so many are turned off.

IClaudine · 23/05/2024 20:10

EasternStandard · 23/05/2024 19:04

Exactly

Both sides accuse the other of being bots etc. Look at @Ereyraa 's rude post.

cakeorwine · 25/05/2024 19:11

This is how ridiculous this is.

I started a thread on telling people to get Voter ID

And it's been moved to the Election topic. Where people go to if they are interested in politics and are very likely to vote and to know about Voter ID

RestlessDollyMaunder · 25/05/2024 19:19

@cakeorwine - ask for it to be moved back.

I have done.

People may not be interested in the threads but they need to know about Voter ID.

when you receive your polling card you will be advised that you will need ID
