Can't access on website any more? Taken to app instead

Why can't I look at Mumsnet through the website any more? Even if I try I'm automatically taken to the app, and I don't like the app which is why I use the website.
Has this option been removed? Is Mumsnet no longer on a browser?

Hi @zurala

We take you to the app as the people who have it installed usually prefer to use the app.

If you'd prefer not to use the app you can remove it from your device and the mobile web version of the site will work as expected.

That's new today, I've always had both on my phone but been able to access the website version. In fact today the tab I keep open on Mumsnet randomly disappeared then I could I only get on via the app. I've deleted the app so am now back online but it's very annoying and you shouldn't assume I wanted to change how I access Mumsnet.

The app is rubbish compared to how it works via browser.

@zurala We're currently working on our mobile apps to bring them into feature parity with the website. It's a mammoth task but we're dedicating significant resource in order to do it properly.

The functionality hasn't changed today. There have been no changes to the functionality of the site or the apps since last week.

It's possible that the URL that you had open in the existing tab that has been closed wasn't a URL that the app intercepts, or could have been opened before the app was installed. In either of those cases it would have continued working, but as it has been closed on your device, opening a new one has triggered the redirection to the app.

Thanks for the reply. I didn't actually close the tab, it just disappeared which was really odd, and I got a new phone at Christmas so I opened it after that. Anyway, I've deleted the app so that's solved it and I look forward to when the app is less rubbish!
