Op View/compact view

Really hate the new OP view. On a board where you’re potentially reading a lot of threads, it’s annoying to be able to see only two or three rather than scan down a long list and pick out the ones you want to read. And for long duration threads, there’s no need to keep seeing the OP, the title is enough

I would like whatever you set as your default to stay your default, and not be reset every time you come back to the board. If I've answered several posts in a thread, the quickest way to get back to the list of topics is to click on “gardening” at the top, rather than to use the browser back arrow, but every time I do that, it throws me back into OP view - so annoying!

Is this on the app@MereDintofPandiculation?

I completely agree meredint, having to change the view every time I go back to the list of threads is particularly annoying.

Yes! I'm willing to believe that there may be people who like the OP view. But for those of us whose needs it doesn't meet, it would be good to be able to select compact view once, and it to stay like that until and if your change it back. Just like selecting what view you want on your email program!

I just saw the new 'long' view of a topic for the first time on gardening. seeing a few pictures from a thread is fine but I hate the way it opens every thread in a new tab (in Chrome) rather than staying in the same tab. why does it do that?

also, there seem to be many more adverts in the new OP view even though I'm a subscriber and I thought I was paying to avoid the adverts.

Hi there, @parietal. We've double checked on this one. Premium users see Mumsnet with no display ads such as banners, video and pop-ups, but you will occasionally still see some ads, such as the 'promoted by Mumsnet' ones in your feed and the new OP view.

I go on the Gardening topic a lot, and I'm with @MereDintofPandiculation on this one. Don't like the layout at all.
