Problem accessing DMs

I use a laptop for MN and have not had this problem before but today all I can see is the top third or so of the private message screen with no way of scrolling down to see the actual DM - so I can reply to a DM but not see what the actual message is.

Incidentally, I am sure it showed on my footage, but worth noting that when I click on private messages, the up-and-down sidebar on the side of my screen used to scroll, disappears which must have something to do with it?

Thanks @Roussette I couldn't figure out how to do a video; @LilyMumsnet I can agree with Roussette, if I click into my 'pm' page I instantly lose the right-hand scrollbar.
