Hi . Are the PM's working? Mine won't scroll down to show the actual msg. Ta

Can someone help me pls? I'm so intrigued what the msg is!

On a laptop, using Chrome. It just freezes and I can't scroll down to see the msg. But I can on every other page of mumsnet. Maybe you could just email me the msg? ( Eeek! , unless it's nasty, nobody sends me PM's so wanted to see it). Thanks for getting back to me.

Hi again @marmaladeslade. Yep, just had a look and can see exactly what you mean. It looks like that ad at the top is pushing everything down a bit and the right hand side of the page isn't scrollable. That's something we can fix so we'll get onto that - thanks for letting us know.

In the meantime, you should be able to still scroll down to see the new PM. On the left, you should see a box headed 'Private Messages' then underneath that a 'Search Usernames' box and directly beneath that the PMs start? Alongside that is a mini scroll bar, so if your new PM isn't appearing at the top of that little box, you should be able to scroll down there to find it.

If you want to start a whole new PM you can do it by hitting the pen and paper icon next to where it says 'Private Messages'.

If that's still not working though, do just drop us another line and if you're happy for us to go into your PMs, we can copy and paste the message and email it to you. I'd usually suggest we PM that sort of thing, but perhaps not today!

I tried what you suggested and there is a teensy little window and I managed to read . "Hi there, I saw your reply about". That's it. Happy for you to email it to me if you can or pm it whatever. Not sure what is happening "today" , as I'm not in the UK, but would be glad if you could fix it or send me the msg . Thanks agaiin. Fi

Oh you meant because my PM's aren't working. Sorry. I really aren't normally that dim. An email would be great thanks.

My PM's still don't work and I didnt get an email from you guys with the PM. Thanks for checking it out for me though. ( It's probably something really boring but I want to know now :) )

Still no luck. It's disappeared now.

Hi again @marmaladeslade - we're sorry you're still having trouble viewing your private messages. As you've given us permission, we've sent you an email with the missing message.

We're currently working on a fix for this issue and will be back with an update as soon as we can.

I have also got this issue on chrome

I'm having trouble today too - rarely send a PM so no idea how long it's been going on for. The screen is completely frozen with a blank top half where you might expect an ad to be, and it won't scroll down so I can't get to the bit that matters.

Desktop/Chrome in case you want to know that, MNHQ.

Hi there @toochesterdraws and others. Thanks for letting us know. We'll see if we can find out how long it might be until this is fixed and will get back to you.

OK. It's in the pipeline. We don't have an exact date but it sounds like we have a solution and the fix should be in place soon. In the meantime, if anyone has a PM they can't see, just post here and then report your post and we can get it sent over by email to you.

Hi @HebeMumsnet - on the PM topic, if someone messages me on one name and I reply, will it reply from that name or does it change to another name change?

It will say what username you're responding from at the top. It should stay the same but always worth double checking!
