New feature - My feed

We’ve just released our latest feature, 'My feed' 🎉

After we released follow topics, many users told us that they wanted to see threads from the topics they’re following in one place. So we’ve built ‘My feed’ to make it easier to discover threads you might be interested in. You can choose which topics you’d like to see in your Talk settings or by following topics from the topic homepage.

You can navigate to ‘My feed’ from the Talk dropdown menu and from the profile dropdown in the top right corner of our site.

For now, you won’t be able to access it in the Talk mobile app. We’d like to reassure you that we’re working on improving both the iOS and Android Talk apps, and we want to work closely with our users to make sure we get it right. If you’re an app user and you have 15 minutes spare, we’d love to hear from you via this survey.

@AmeliaPMumsnet Brilliant! Would there be any chance of adding this on the main talk banner (instead of perhaps 'last day' which isn't very useful) for quicker navigation from active?

For people that are annoyed with the lack of facilities on the app, could there be (or is there?) a dedicated thread for people to answer the survey?

The app has so many features lacking that are available on the mobile site - name changing automatically for threads, ability to vote or even see vote figures, a search facility that works, photo filter warning, threads that are deleted by MNHQ just disappear without the MNHQ message. Viewing photos seems to make the app crash randomly. You can’t even see or send PMs! It lacks very basic features, and all the new features that are introduced (as above!) are never rolled out to the app. It is really frustrating and annoying, especially for those who struggle to use the mobile site due to lack of accessibility. I pay for premium membership as I support MN but am becoming really pissed off with the app being so sub standard.

Thank you, we appreciate the feedback! We’re taking this on board and are looking into the other possible options for navigating to ‘My feed’. It’s really helpful to know that you’d like to be able to navigate to it quickly from the Talk page. Please do share any other thoughts or feedback you have!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts! We understand your frustration completely and we’re aware that the Talk apps aren’t up to scratch.

We’re actively recruiting app users from different channels for this survey, and we’d like to reach as many as possible so we can collate feedback in one place. We want to find out what’s important to app users like yourself so we can decide on the best approach for improving them.

Warning! I know we all hate Slime anyway but my daughter brought hone a pot of slime another mum bought her. This is what it did in 5 minutes to my 300 year old pretty resilient table…it completely removed all the varnish. I emailed Canal Toys immediately and my complaint is still ongoing. Terrible product, terrible customer service!!

My app stopped working yesterday. I logged out to try to fix it and now when I try to log in it says there is a known error and the developers are working on it but I see no one else commenting so it is just me?

What do you mean by 1:1 interview on the survey @AmeliaPMumsnet?

A 1:1 interview would involve you joining a Zoom call with 1 or 2 members of the Mumsnet team. We use this as an opportunity find out more about what users think about Mumsnet. We may also ask users to complete tasks or walk us through how they would do something on Mumsnet. This will all vary from interview to interview depending on what we’re researching, and we tell users ahead of time if they’ll need to share their screen, etc. Please do let us know if you have any other questions.

Any advice needed on how to cope?!

My boss is not happy im
pregnant. I informed him in Jan and since then I’ve had nothing but grief and stress from him. I believe he is trying to sack me but put it down to my work not the fact rhat im pregnant.

I have a capability hearing tomorrow with him. I’m just stressing about everything.

this is my first child so I’m just wondering if I was to get sacked am I still entitled to maternity pay? Would he still have to pay me?

I’ve spoken to ACAS who said for me to put a forward a grievance which I will do but nervously 😕as he’s just awful!

Any advice or information would be helpful. I don’t know what to do or to turn to currently.

I’m slowly cracking up with five small kids, 3 with children pox at the moment. Any suggestions for a moment of sanity (excl. 🍷 , didn’t work ) !
