Black screen / pop up

Is anyone else getting a black screen when you're on a thread. Seems to happen when I click next page and I get a full screen pop up.
I've got pop ups blocked. It reminds me of when they upgraded the site and we had those big ads blocking the screen. It's intermittent though.

I've only just fixed the Samsung posting issues 😕 am on the browser on my phone, not using the app.

This has just happend to me. A big empty black box. I also have ad blocker (no idea how anyone uses MN without it)

LindorDoubleChoc · 08/03/2023 08:43

This has happened to me this morning, but suspiciously only on one "thread I'm on". It's the one in AIBU about babies and toddlers being taken to drag shows. Because of the subject matter, I thought MN might have been hacked in some way?? is that possible?

All other threads I'm on and new threads have been fine so far.

I'm on a Chromebook HQ if that helps.

It's happened to me too! We're flagging it to Tech, fear not. I can refresh it away but it's quite unnerving isn't it? Robot takeover probably. Will be in touch when we have a response from Tech.

Rowgtfc72 · 08/03/2023 08:53

I have it too.
Just tried to post on snow day as well and it keeps asking me for my user name.
But this thread doesn't.

VenusStarr · 08/03/2023 08:58

Thank you @HopeMumsnet if I go back and try again, it goes. It is strange!

Sorry others are having issues, but also glad it's not just me!

Yes Error 500 internal server. It says when I was trying to Chat

Emilypost · 08/03/2023 10:39

@HopeMumsnet Also, please look at my PMs to @HebeMumsnet.

PragmaticWench · 08/03/2023 11:13

Same here, but only on a few threads not all.

HopeMumsnet · 08/03/2023 12:49

Let us hear your browsers, laptops and whatnot, will you? I've told them mine, they're hard at work. It hasn't happened to me since this morning fwiw.

Hi Emily HQ staffers sometimes don't see their PMs, so report your post and they can open a dialogue with you that way, hope you're ok.

Mine is Samsung browser (can't remember what it's called).
Haven't had it since this morning either, maybe just a glitch?

Hopefully that's the case OP, but if it comes back please let us know. Flowers

I keep getting the consent pop up every time I change a page I'm on and when I went to comment it was an old username - checked on settings and my current user name is on there so not sure what that was about

Can we please check what device and browser you're using?

Here is a guide on what to do - if you follow the instructions below the consent pop up should stop appearing once you've reselected your preferences. Do let me know if not.

iPhone & iPad
Navigate to your settings
Click on ‘Safari’
Scroll to the bottom and choose ‘Advanced’
Click on ‘Website Data’
Type ‘Mumsnet' into the search box
Swipe left on ‘Mumsnet’ and choose ‘Delete’

Macs
Open your Safari preferences
Click ‘Privacy’
Click ‘Manage Website Data’
Type ‘Mumsnet' into the search box
Click on ‘Mumsnet.com’ and choose ‘Remove’
Click ‘Done'
