Losing Private Messages when I send them

Sending a chat PM. Strange happenings. Two main problems.

1. As I am typing, the thread resets all our posts back to when we started. It shows the inaugural post (last November). So I have to move the slider to show the one I am replying to. Then send.
2. I type and send and the message disappears. I refresh (F5) sometimes it posts sometimes not.

Minor irritations are delay of one or two seconds after a key stroke and delays in receiving messages.
Any suggestions about what I am doing that is'wrong'?

My apologies for my slow response.
The descriptions which I give upthread are accurate.

The probs have repeated today. Often these glitches are early morning when the site is not busy. Unless updating or similar is occurring.
My device is a Laptop in my house, HP Pavilion, Microsoft Edge. TalkTalk '35' package on speed. Talktalk Router.
I do not have this type of problem on other sites.

Hi again @Emilypost . Thanks for getting back to us with all that info. Could we ask you to try logging in with a different browser and trying to send a test PM to see if that works? You can send one to me if you like?

Update to all (more details to Mumsnet). To improve the problems listed above.
1). I now login by clicking Chrome first to ensure it is used, Edge will try to override it.
2). Also I bypassed the adblocker for Chat.
