Hi all,

We’d like to hear what you think of our Last day, Last hour and Unanswered threads lists. You can find them by visiting Active on a desktop device. We’d like to get a sense of why you use them, as well as what you use them for. If you don’t use them, or didn’t know that they existed, that’s helpful for us to know too!

Could you spare a couple of minutes to reply with answers to the following questions? If you’d like to answer but don’t feel comfortable sharing here, feel free to PM me with your responses.

1. Based on the names of the lists, what would you expect to see in each of them?
2. Which of these lists do you visit?
3. If you do visit them, how frequently do you visit them?
4. If you do visit them, what do you use them for?
5. If you don’t visit them, can you tell us why?

I'm always intrigued - do most people access Mumsnet via the website? I've only ever used the app so many of these things aren't anything I'm familiar with

I have always used a laptop to log in. Never occurred to me to use a tiny phone screen! Only using one now that my laptop is being repaired- and I hate it!

Thank you to you all for taking the time to give us such thorough feedback. It’s helpful to know what you think and it’s clear to us that it might not be obvious how these lists could be useful and how you can find them on different devices.

We can see quite a few posts asking for further clarifications on moderation, which we’ll get back to you on shortly. Thanks again everyone!

I never use them and I don't know why really, other than I just forget that they're there.

I used to use them but I've no idea where they are on the app, so I don't any more.

I've often wondered whether you just dumped them.

I thought they were good to have; if you're interested in a particular topic, say bereavement and want to see the latest posters who may need help then they're good though you can get there by going to the topic itself (a bit long winded but works).

The unanswered one is the one that's still needed imo. Unanswered can drop off the bottom of any list very quickly and sometimes the poster needs help. I appreciate that this isn't the site it was and changes occur over time, but we still give help and support and I think there's still a place for unanswered.

I'm impressed by people who can type 400 word posts with perfect grammar & no typos on a mobile no suspicions about bots at all none at all. App stopped working on one of my handheld devices a while ago, so anyway I touch type & struggle not to make constant errors jabbing tiny keys on mobile device. Hence I use desktop.

I use Last Day link every day, but not last hour because I have a life. Unanswered Threads is good for finding threads where my response might matter, rather than threads that already have 200+ responses & everyone has already said 400 things.

I would like that if you hide a board for Active, it stays hidden in Last Hour / Day.
Hiding should be consistent across the site.

@llljkk - my phone corrects my typing. Commas, grammar, even semi colons. It's wonderful. I just type gibberish, and it's mainly corrected for me!

If you do visit them, how frequently do you visit them? Use last hour as my main way of finding threads.

If you do visit them, what do you use them for? To see a variety of recent topics.

If you don’t visit them, can you tell us why? Didn’t know about the Unanswered Threads, Last Day shows too much.
