Why am I getting sex topic threads when I've hidden the topic?

I had the same thing. I have hidden it again and it seems to be staying hidden now.

Can we ask you to check it has definitely been hidden? We had an issue a while back where hidden topics came back, it may be that you need to hide it again.

It’s appearing in ‘active threads’ this week, too, whereas it never has previously.

Samsung galaxy a10 tablet and a12 phone.
Samsung and Firefox browser.

I've tried hiding the topic on Firefox, I shall try on samsung

Looked in talk settings and it's in the follow list, so I've got it hidden.

Still getting threads in active, even though that topic is hidden.

Morning, everyone. We'll look into this now. Just to clarify, the Sex topic is now appearing in Active but if you have it hidden you shouldn't be seeing it. We did have an issue a while ago where topics were unhiding themselves but that should all be resolved now. Perhaps just check you definitely still have it as 'hidden' in your settings in case it has somehow unchecked itself. We'll see if we can find out what's happening in the meantime.

If anyone who's having the issue could let us know if they're on the app or the site and what device and browser they're using, that would be really helpful, too. Thanks!

I didn’t even know there WAS a sex topic still it started popping up today in active feeds!

I reported this yesterday and it's still in active. We're going to get all the perves/trolls all over it...

I wondered this too. So many of them, suddenly. MNHQ please get them out of active, so many are bullshit , pervs and trolls.

Broadly related, how come users only have to be registered for 7 days now before they can post in that section? Didn't it used to be 6 months?

I saw it pop up on active the other day and clicked in out of curiosity. The men vs women ratio was about 50:50 which is so out of whack compared to the rest of the site. It was also nauseating. Like the mills and boon I used to steal off my Grannys book shelf and read as a kid. I wonder is there actually demand there for it to be on active topics? The couple of posters that seemed like regulars seemed very put out by other posters coming in and not getting off at their bad attempts at smut.

I had a scroll through the sex chat thread last night and blurgh. So many people on it admitting that they were married too.

Sex threads shouldn't appear in Active, even if the new vibrator partners insist on it for sales reasons. The thread I clicked on by mistake had a really jarring male 'mmm, ladies' one-handed typing feel about it. At least the poo/box room trolls would construct a token unrelated OP first.

Why is this still happening?
I hid the freaking topic and it's STILL appearing in active!

@HebeMumsnet Please could you answer why the Sex topic has been made 7 days membership-contingent? Seems rather a regressive move.

It's really intrusive. I'm not a prude (honest), but I don't come here for the sex topic and mumsnet vibrator promotions.

MN is currently overrun by trolls of the hairy handed variety. I haven't seen it this bad for ages. It is tedious.
