Consent pop up on every page

bluesuitcase · 02/02/2023 18:32

Is anyone else having to ‘manage consent’ on a pop up on every single page? It’s been like this since this morning. So whenever I click a new thread I’m having to manage consent before I can read it.

I’m using safari on an iPad if that helps.

Just started happening to me too - Chrome on laptop, so I guess browser/format is not the issue.

walking · 06/02/2023 12:43

Has been the same for me for months so I've more or less stopped reading and posting on my laptop. Less often on my phone though.

Doesn't matter if I click 'no', reject, confirm, or 'accept all'- it pops up the second I press the next page too. So annoying.

In another thread about this someone recommended clearing cookies, that helped some people but no change for me.

YetAnotherBeckyMumsnet · 06/02/2023 13:09

Hello, everyone - sorry to hear this is annoying you all. Clearing cookies has worked for some users in the past - and clearing the cache has also done the trick for others.

In the meantime, we're going to look into what's causing this now and get back to you with a solution - if anyone else is experiencing consent popups on every page, please let us know along with your device and browser. Thank you.

Hi I am having this constantly on edge. Cleared everything etc but nothing is working.

Can we ask if your browser is up to date?

sd249 · 14/02/2023 07:32

Yes - up to date, just re-cleared everything again and updated and still happening on every page.

LilyMumsnet · 14/02/2023 15:21

sd249 · 14/02/2023 07:32

Yes - up to date, just re-cleared everything again and updated and still happening on every page.

Would you mind clearing your cookies as well as cache?

In Edge, select Settings and more
> Settings > Cookies and site permissions.

Under Cookies and data stored, select Manage and delete cookies and site data > See all cookies and site data and search for the site whose cookies you want to delete.

Select the down arrow to the right of the site whose cookies you want to delete and select Delete .

Cookies for the site you selected will now be deleted. Repeat this step for any site whose cookies you want to delete.

sd249 · 15/02/2023 07:03

Done this before.

Just done again and still happening.

LilyMumsnet · 15/02/2023 15:25

Sorry @sd249

Are you doing cookies and cache together? Can we check whether you're using private browsing?

Nersa · 20/02/2023 01:26

Hi, @LilyMumsnet I didn't realise there were a few threads about this issue now and responded to you on a different thread a few days ago to say I'm still having trouble but there's been no reply and I see this thread is more recent, so trying here. Basically nothing's changed for me - still having to click three times to move forward on any page and it is very tiresome. Using Desktop computer with Firefox but also get same result with Edge. Have all the Windows updates and do not have this problem on any other site I visit. I always clear the cache and delete cookies before closing down. Hope you can resolve whatever is casuing this.

Takingthepiss · 20/02/2023 06:49

Is the Google settings pop up?

im using safari on iPhone and it’s not all the time so cookies/cache is irrelevant but it’s bloody annoying.

and that little pop up advert too 🤬🤬🤬🤬

LilyMumsnet · 20/02/2023 17:46

@Nersa is there a chance you could email over a screen recording to [email protected]

We're not sure why the instructions aren't working for you, so it would be really useful to see what's happening on your screen.

Nersa · 20/02/2023 22:05

Hello again, this is the screenshot I posted on 2nd November 2022. Nothing has changed. Apologies that image is not great quality as its fine on my computer. Just every single page I try to access or go back to, this consent thing pops up and as shown in my screenshot I have to click the first box to move past, then the second pop up to move past that, then finally the 'Reject' button which then lets me view the page...if I want to go to next page, repeat, and so on.

Consent pop up on every page

Just to say that I have the same issue as Nersa: "Using Desktop computer with Firefox but also get same result with Edge. Have all the Windows updates and do not have this problem on any other site I visit"

Still very annoying.

LilyMumsnet · 16/03/2023 12:43

Can we check if you have both tried clearing your cache? Apologies if you have already.

I have, and you can just read @Nersa s previous comment: 'I always clear the cache and delete cookies before closing down.'

bluesuitcase · 16/03/2023 14:58

Just to confirm that mine stopped once I cleared the cookies and logged back in - thanks for your help. Sorry to hear it hasn’t worked for others.

LilyMumsnet · 16/03/2023 16:11

Thanks all, and thanks for the update OP.
Could anyone still having issues please also try logging out and back into the site?

Nersa · 17/03/2023 01:01

@walking thanks for referring to my previous post. Appeciate that.
@LilyMumsnet I can't say anything more than I already have. Its happening every time with every page so trying to navigate the site is awful. I clear my cache every time and have also logged out and back in to the site multiple times - makes no difference.

LilyMumsnet · 17/03/2023 14:43

Do you have a different browser you can try temporarily whilst we investigate?

Verylongtime · 17/03/2023 16:21

This has just started happening to me, within the last half-an-hour. I’m using Safari on iPhone 6.

walking · 24/03/2023 09:25

Same thing on Edge for me.

JoMumsnet · 24/03/2023 10:46

Hi @walking can you please try clearing your cookies and cache? LilyMumsnet provided instructions earlier on this thread if you need any help.

Please let us know how you get on.

walking · 24/03/2023 21:54

Hi, I've done it before, there were instructions in another thread a long time ago. I just did it again, but nothing changes :-/ Pop up removed a number of times to be able to post this reply.
