Can't create a thread on Android app

I use the rather shitty android app to read and respond to threads, however for some reason it is impossible to create a thread on it. I'm using a Huawei pro30 and when I click which board I want to create a thread on it just sends me to that board!! If I cli k back it takes me back to the create a thread page but again, if I click which board I want to post on it goes back to the board rather than adding it as the board I want to post a thread on.

Please sort out the Android app, its truly shite. For @mnhq,@mnhq

We're really sorry you're having difficulties with this. Please could you uninstall and reinstall the android app to ensure you're running the latest version?

I've just tried that. It is still happening. Please can you invest some time and money into the Android app

We haven't yet had any other reports of this, so we're keen to try and replicate it.

Is there any update to this? @LilyMumsnet it is very annoying and means the site is unusable unless to read threads and reply

Hi again @whatyoulookingfor . We received your video and the Tech team have been looking at it to see if they can fix the issue here. I'll find out if there's any update yet and get back to you.

Hi again @whatyoulookingfor . No 'big' update quite yet but the issue is on the list of things to get done and we're hoping to get a fix in asap. In the meantime, you might be able to work around this by selecting a topic from the list of general topics rather than from your favourites when you want to create a thread.

Hi I just started today and I can not start a thread. I haven't found the FAQs nor found a Contact Us option. These could be labeled differently than what I'm used to but I have no option in the "I started" tab to chose a "board" to post too. Apologies for doing this on this thread as I'm not sure its even part of the Android app issue. I do have an Android phone but I'm not on the app. I'm on the mobile web via my phone.

That will be because it still hasn't been fixed!! I've emailed them with videos etc. @MNHQ do not care

Hi there @IIdentifyAsInnocent. I have just checked in on progress with this. It is still on the to do list (other things have had to take priority unfortunately) but we are going to bump it up the list now and will let you know when there's an update.

We are also in the process of building a new Android app at the moment but we don't yet have a timeline for completion of it yet.

Really? On mine there is no option to see all of the OP's posts. I use that all the time (on desktop) to catch up on a thread without having to scroll through hundreds of posts all saying the same thing.
