Go to My Mumsnet, settings, talk settings. Scroll down to the bottom, manage hidden threads and topics.

Literally just used it to hide the royal family topic.

Ah brilliant. I have done the same.

gamerchick · 05/01/2023 17:07

Heh I was just thinking I need to hide that bloody topic.

BeyondReleaseTheKraken · 05/01/2023 17:08

Yep royal family hidden by me today too. Been here for 13 years and that's the first time I've done it! Bloody ridiculous in there today 🙄😁

MarshaBradyo · 05/01/2023 17:10

Knew it would be the RF one

TimBoothseyes · 05/01/2023 17:15

I clicked on this to hide the Royal Family thread too.
But sadly it will keep popping into out feed in different categories - unless we can also hide anything with Harry or Meghan in it.

Mumsnet - this site is becoming unbearable with the Sussex fans/bots constantly posting.

If you click on the individual threads when they come up on AIBU you can hide the threads on an individual level.

Yes, I hide individual threads too. Have to spend a minute doing that every time I open the app - ridiculous!

BeyondReleaseTheKraken · 05/01/2023 17:26

If I report every "aibu to think that Harry blah blah blah" for being in the wrong topic before I hide, would that help or would I just be a petty dick? 🤣🤣

Mum2jenny · 05/01/2023 17:29

RF blocked too

@Notonthestairs thank you! 🤩

DemBonesDemBones · 05/01/2023 18:49

It was a bloody expensive preorder to be spoiled! I've already disabled Facebook today, think I'll have to come of mumsnet too.

AlexCabot · 05/01/2023 22:14

Royal family topic also hidden, thank god.

I'd be interested in the stats, how many members have hidden it in the last 24 hours I wonder?

PAFMO · 05/01/2023 22:22

It's only about 4 obsessed loons starting the threads as well.

NotAnotherBathBomb · 05/01/2023 22:32

BloodAndFire · 05/01/2023 16:42

I am in (tenuous) recovery from long term eating disorders and I long ago hid not only the eating disorder forums here but also all of the weight loss, diet and exercise forums too.

I really really really hate it when people post about these topics in the general Chat or AIBU forums.

i wish posters would think a bit more before just posting wherever they think they'll get the most 'traffic'.

I 💯 agree with you. See also the pregnancy tests asking in AIBU if anyone can see a line 🙄 there needs to be better moderation of those

SmokeyPaprika · 06/01/2023 07:06

Thank goodness - hidden the blooming Royal Family Topic
I've spent more time hiding threads than reading MN lately

SmokeyPaprika · 06/01/2023 07:11

It would be useful to hide threads containing a certain word - eg Harry

This could be applied to other things that trigger people

Harperweek · 06/01/2023 07:13

Thanks OP. I’ve hidden the RF too. People are obsessed.

WhereIsMyRollingPin · 06/01/2023 07:35

I apologise for not being very tech savvy. I can't get started on this. Where is My Mumsnet please? On my phone if that makes a difference.

DH and I have agreed to avoid all news next week, just a once daily quick check that nothing major has happened in the world.

Notonthestairs · 06/01/2023 07:40

Rollingpin - go to active threads. Top right hand corner there are three lines. Click on that and it will my mumsnet.

StewPots · 06/01/2023 07:44

Another one grateful for this thread - no more RF nonsense, and I’ll be hiding anything that comes up in other topics too. Honestly there’s more pressing issues to discuss… who are these obsessives?!

Hallelujah! THANKYOU

maddy68 · 06/01/2023 07:54

I want to hide the whole topic. The feminism one drives me insane

CarlaH · 06/01/2023 08:06

I have just tried. It says royal family is hidden but they are still showing in active for me anyway.

On the app I had to close it down completely then it had gone when I reopened it.
