Go to My Mumsnet, settings, talk settings. Scroll down to the bottom, manage hidden threads and topics.

Literally just used it to hide the royal family topic.

Me too, and then lo and behold, the first thread I see upon by return is one some bastard has posted in AIBU about them. Gaaarghhhh!

MayThe4th · 05/01/2023 15:42

Thank you. Royal family topic hidden.

Itschristmastimeinthecity · 05/01/2023 15:49

Thank you OP, I searched for this because I want to hid all Royal family stuff as well.

Lochjeda · 05/01/2023 16:21

Royalsnet.com today instead of mumsnet! Would drive you insane.

123rd · 05/01/2023 16:22

Can you do it from the app?

Walkingtheplank · 05/01/2023 16:25

I clicked on this to hide the Royal Family thread too.
But sadly it will keep popping into out feed in different categories - unless we can also hide anything with Harry or Meghan in it.

Mumsnet - this site is becoming unbearable with the Sussex fans/bots constantly posting.

Yes, I realized it's being posted on AIBU a lot as well but I don't wanna hide that topic.

@LilyMumsnet is there a way to hide everything royal family related threads across MN?

ICanHideButICantRun · 05/01/2023 16:35

Oh thank god I've found this thread.

Newyearhappy · 05/01/2023 16:35

Thanks all - just hidden the Royal Family topic too :)

iliketartan · 05/01/2023 16:38

Any way of doing this on the app - I'm on iPad and iPhone? Also want to hide the royal topic Hmm

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 05/01/2023 16:39

Is there much left once you've hidden that topic? Most of the active threads seem to be H&M related. Sooooo boring.

I've just blocked the Royal Family topic on the App - went in to My Mumsnet and then at the bottom of that page there is another link to something like talk preferences and then you can hide topics.
I might add a few more topics!

BloodAndFire · 05/01/2023 16:42

I am in (tenuous) recovery from long term eating disorders and I long ago hid not only the eating disorder forums here but also all of the weight loss, diet and exercise forums too.

I really really really hate it when people post about these topics in the general Chat or AIBU forums.

i wish posters would think a bit more before just posting wherever they think they'll get the most 'traffic'.

It certainly changes the look of active threads!

Thank you. Oddly enough that is exactly what I came on this thread to ask how to do! 😂

TimBoothseyes · 05/01/2023 16:55

I don't have "Royal Family" come up on that list....guess I'm doomed to suffer the monotony of Harry threads forever.

Msgrieves · 05/01/2023 16:57

Yes, it's much better with royal family topic hidden. Stuff leaks through but it's manageable. Who on earth were the people posting a bazillion threads about it, I'd love to know if they were bots or just crazy obsessives.

Msgrieves · 05/01/2023 16:59

Also noticed quite a few covid threads surfacing, that one might have to go too.

PuppyMonkey · 05/01/2023 17:00

Just a heads up if you’re looking to hide the royal family topic, it comes under “t” for the - nearly missed it looking under “r”. Confused

Try looking under “The Royal family”
that’s where it was for me.

thank you Op for posting this thread.
I’m no longer looking at active convos rolling my eyes and thinking people need to get a life.

DancingLedgend · 05/01/2023 17:06

Thank you so much.
Royal family now hidden.
