Is anyone else getting a new website pop up (lucky puppy) full of ads when browsing mumsnet on chrome for iPhone? It’s happened to me 4 times in the last 15 minutes and one of the times I wasn’t even touching my phone it just redirected to lucky puppy

I am using Edge. I can't recall which thread I was reading, sorry.

nilsmousehammer · 12/01/2023 18:13

And again, as I opened the 'I'm on' page. All cookies cleared, virus checks run.

nilsmousehammer · 12/01/2023 18:19

And again while typing a post which I lost. Buggy beyond being useable.

Has happened to me too 3 times this evening. Was on the AIBU page last time, about to press the refresh page and got redirected here to a mcafee page:

Hope this will help you track it down...

nilsmousehammer · 12/01/2023 18:25

And again.

I give up.

AudTheDeepMinded · 12/01/2023 18:36

I get sent to McAfee expired notice and page, looks dodgy.

SoImpatient80 · 12/01/2023 18:48

Seems to be an issue for a few of us.

Other thread

Brokendaughter · 16/01/2023 18:25

I have this happening now every single day on at least half the threads I try to read.

It ONLY happens on Mumsnet using Chrome on all different forums including this one a minute ago when I went to the other thread linked in the post just above this one, sometimes the first time I've looked at a thread, other times after following a link in an email to a thread I'm watching.

No other site has this happen at all.

It's been over a week this has been going on.
Site is almost unusable.

IanJm · 23/01/2023 16:53

To get rid of the pop up with chrome on android:

force stop the chrome app.

delete cache data.

delete stored data.

close app.

go to play store search for chrome and uninstall updates.

reinstall updates.

this worked for myself

YummyYummyLove · 03/02/2023 21:54

I keep getting this too!! I sure hope it isn’t a virus..

np5 · 06/03/2023 00:58

Hello! @LilyMumsnet @HebeMumsnet

Unfortunately, users on my website seem to be experiencing exactly the same thing.

We suspect this is related to the Ads we show on our website, but I'd be very interested in knowing how did you fix this issue.

I see LilyMumsnet replied on Page 4 with "This should be fixed now".

Thank you very much!
Very kind regards

HebeMumsnet · 06/03/2023 09:46

Hi there @np5 . Sorry to hear you might have the same issue. If it is the same, then it does sound like an ads issue, yes. You'd probably need to contact your ad network to report and get them to block the ads causing this.

np5 · 06/03/2023 10:29

Thanks very much for your reply @HebeMumsnet - but did you get any conclusion which network it was? (e.g. AdSense/AdX or APS)
Or even better, which advertiser?
(I sent you a PM, if you prefer to discuss privately)

Thank you very much once again!
