Determined, re-appearing trolls/PBPs

But why, for the love of God, does it appear that you're unable to permanently ban the most recent, persistent trolls?

It's so wearing, frustrating and - I'm sure from your position - time-wasting.

Why is it - and it seems like it's worse since the new platform - so impossible to get shot of them?

Hi @BIWI thanks for your questions. We'd love to be able to permanently ban trolls but, unfortunately, it's not that simple. As posters have already mentioned, IPs are rarely fixed and so banning an IP would not do much to stop them. We've spoken to community teams from other sites and found that the same trolls were doing the rounds there too.

We've implemented a few tools that make it harder for trolls to cause havoc and are continuing to look at other steps we can take. We're reluctant to go into details for obvious reasons - TSSDNCOP, etc.

In the mean time, keep reporting!

But thank you for your answer. Looks like we'll just have to suffer the troll till they get bored and shuffle off somewhere else.

That's very true. And I made the same point earlier in the thread, about ignoring them.

The point I'm making here, though, is asking what can be done about them by MNHQ.
