On my MacBook Air using Firefox a banner appears in the middle of the page and can't be closed or moved.
I'll try to post a photo.

Topics, threads, usernames and x (on right, to close the banner) aren't clickable, Mumsnet and see more results are.

same here on iPhone (not on app)

crispinglovershighkick · 26/09/2022 03:58

Oddly the app is fine on my phone. I tried to reply on my laptop and can't click on the message field, or rather it indicates where you'd type a message but there's no field there so nothing to click on if that makes sense.

I had this the last few days. Once I updated my MacBook it disappeared.

I had something similar and I had to clear my data in Safari. If you click on the safari menu, then preferences then there's an option to Manage Website Data you can select Mumsnet and clear that.

Might work for you.

Ulysses · 26/09/2022 05:17

On the iPhone, it's in your Settings app.

I had that too on Chrome for a few days. It seems to have gone now.

Hello @crispinglovershighkick .

Sorry to hear about this. As others have suggested already (thanks everyone!) if you could try updating your browser and clearing cache that might sort it. If it's still a problem once you've done that, drop us another line here and we'll take another look, but those things will eliminate some possibilities so we'll be better placed to make another guess as to what could be causing it.

Surtsey · 26/09/2022 14:04

I did the clearing cache and updating browser two days ago and it didn't work (chrome on laptop). I couldn't read messages, couldn't send any, couldn't post on threads, couldn't get on Site Stuff to report it, nothing. So I gave up trying on Saturday.

Today, finally, the thing has been sorted out and seems back to normal. So far.

crispinglovershighkick · 26/09/2022 18:37

Thanks HebeMumsnet, like Surtsey I had already done an update and cleared cache before posting here, sorry I didn't say in the OP. All back to normal now.

Glad it's all sorted but give us a shout if you have any further issues!
