Link from FB to App

Apologies if this has already been asked, but

When on Facebook app and there is a post from Mumsnet showing an excerpt from a thread complete with hyperlink to said thread......if I click on it, it opens up by on google rather than opening up in the MN app which I have on my phone.

Appreciate this might not be a Issue on your side but perhaps the way my phone settings are set up? Just wondering if anyone had any pearls of wisdom on how to go direct to the MN app?

Notice it's the same if you click through from Instagram.

Thanks so much for your patience here.

The reason the app doesn’t open initially when you open a Mumsnet link from FB is because FB has their own in-app browser. This browser keeps you in Facebook and isn’t connected to anything in else in your phone.

If you click a link from FB and the thread is opened in the FB in-app browser, you can select from the options to open in a browser. When you open the thread in a browser, it should automatically redirect you to the app.

This is the only solution we have right now - we can email you a video with directions if this helps.

Gotcha - makes sense and I can cope with an extra click to take me into the Mumsnet App rather than trying to read it in FB.
