Pop Up Menu Not Closing

On my laptop (Edge browser) and a side menu has opened up on its own and is obscuring half the screen.

It won’t close when I click on the X and is still there when I navigate to a different page/refresh etc.

I’ve had to post this from my phone as the desktop site is unusable!

Hi @CaveMum - sorry you're having this issue. We're looking into it now and will be back with an update as soon as we can.

Hi again @CaveMum - am back with some questions for you Smile

The issue might be that your Edge browser is defaulting to the mobile site rather than the desktop one. It should automatically show the right version of the site according to screen size - is it possible that you have the screen zoomed in?

Do you know the width of your screen? - it looks quite thin so maybe the threshold of when it becomes mobile has kicked in

What happens if you refresh the page?

What happens if you go to a different page URL?

When you click the x does nothing happen?

Can you click on another part of the page? Does anything happen when you do?

Does the page scroll behind the menu or is it totally stuck?

If you try another browser do you have the same issue?

Sorry to bombard you with questions!

Hi @DawnMumsnet

The screen is not zoomed in as it’s working as normal on other sites. It’s a regular 15” laptop so not a small size issue.

Refreshing the page or trying a different page within the site doesn’t get rid of the pop up.

Clicking the X does nothing though I’m able to click on all the hyperlinks, they take me to a new page but the pop up is still there!

The page behind scrolls fine and I can click on the links, but half of it is obscured.

I’ve just loaded up Chrome and the pages seem fine there with no pop up, so I’ve no idea why Edge is defaulting it to the mobile site!
