Hello MN HQ: is there a time limit now on how long you take to write a post?

I am op on a long-running thread ATM, and I want to take my time to write replies to individual posters, and sometimes I get interrupted etc, so it may take me a while to write out a post and actually post it.

If I take say, longer than approximately 10 to 15 minutes to do this, a black rectangle appears on the screen with "oops" written on it in large letters. I can see my post behind it but can't access it.

Does anyone else have this problem? Or am I doing something wrong?

I am on a relatively new Android tablet with Chrome browser.

I read the Mumsnet "please read" thread about the site relaunch and tried to update my browser (in case that's the problem) but when I went to click on the "here" link to do that, I got another "oops" message on white this time and I am confused! 🤔

Could anyone shed any light please?

Oh I had this! Didn't like it.

I've taken to drafting my replies as an email to myself. When I am then finally (sic) ready to post I copy and paste from the email.

What happened Kat? How did you get rid of it (if you did)?

I guess I could do that, thanks Finally here - it would involve quite a bit of switching back and forth though.

Is there a time limit do you think or is this just a glitch?

I managed to copy the text after several attempts and refreshed the page, pasted the text, posted.

Hi Mumsnet, just reporting in to say this is still happening! It's annoying because, by definition, if you have taken more than 10 mins to write a post, then you have written quite a bit
