I can't delete emojis that have been picked from the little menu on the bottom right.

I can delete MN emojis that have been picked

hi - can I ask which browser and device you're using when this happens? I've just tried on desktop/chrome and mobile/safari and I can delete emojis on both so would be really helpful to know where issue occurring?

chrome.

I had the misfortune to post an inapproriate one by accident yestrerday as it is just too fiddly and difficult ot manage to choose the ones needed on my phone. Thankfully mnhq deleted it as it would have upset another poster. (looking a bit of a prat I can deal with, upsetting other people as you can't delete something is not good)

Hi!

We know this is a big ask, but are you able to record your issue of trying to delete emojis, and send it to us on [email protected]?

We're struggling to replicate, so we think it'd be a really big help in finding the issue and fixing it.

they (the generic ones) delete on this thread. (firefox ddesk top. )

I had trouble on my phone with a random generic one. too scared to try using emojis now unless on desktop.

I rember being able to highlight it blue... then the bloody think posted. (Thank you for deleting the inappropriate emoji)

BlackeyedSusan · 10/05/2022 21:38

written description of what happens on phone:

press on grey smile: emojis load slowly...

click on (generic) emoji appears in text box. followed by flashing cursor

press delete button, (key pad disappears)

click after emoji again: flashing curor appears with the blue tear drop for highlighting text

press delete button... emoji highlighted in blue but no key pad now

BlackeyedSusan · 10/05/2022 21:40

and it's gone:

pressed on the emoji longer to get blue tear drop and chose cut option...

its a fucking faff though. should be able to delete with the back button rather than faffing around with poor dexteriuty

BlackeyedSusan · 10/05/2022 21:41

makes accessibkility shit when you are having to fiddle about a lot.

BlackeyedSusan · 10/05/2022 21:42

The mumsnet ones do delete with the abck button. It is just incredibly tricky to acccess them on teh phone as they are fiddly and small and difficult to click the correct one.

Press the smiley face icon, next to your @ icon.

Select any emoji you want (except the MN ones)

Then once it's inserted.

Try and delete it.

Hi all,

Thanks for all the info so far on this - we're still unable to recreate the issue on our side. We've tried using an android phone with chrome and a few combinations on our browser testing tool but unfortunately can't see this issue.

Can you give more details about which devices you are using e.g. Samsung s21?

It'll allow us to simulate that experience so we can track down the issue.

Thanks for your patience!

00100001 · 20/05/2022 17:56

Happy to help.
But I did get an email from you guys saying that they could recreate the issue?
