How to talk to one person from MNHQ?

Innocenta · 09/12/2021 10:40

Can anyone advise me on how to have a reasonable, sustained discussion with someone from MNHQ? I'm really fed up with putting the time and effort into writing emails and often getting just a couple of lines in reply, without even a named responder.

Obviously I'm aware there's a lot to do, and I don't expect instant replies or anything! But when messaging about very serious issues like entrenched ableism within the moderation team and structure of the site, or the under-moderating of Covid misinformation, it's really disappointing to receive dismissive replies.

Still no effort to respond, @MNHQ ?

Hi there, @Innocenta. We're happy to discuss this off the boards, so will be responding to your issues by email.

Thanks, @KimMumsnet - I do appreciate you getting back to me.

Hello again - I have not actually received an appropriate response, but further ableist gaslighting from an unnamed "MNHQ" email. It's seriously disturbing that this is how a disabled contributor is treated in response to raising concerns. Is it MNHQ's intention to foster an atmosphere in which ableism can flourish?

@KimMumsnet - sorry to bother you, but since you replied before, perhaps you could ask whoever is the right person to take a look? Moderation targeting severely disabled members of the board is a serious issue, and there should be a robust procedure for raising concerns about fairness.

Hi Innocenta, we've received your complaints via email and will respond as soon as possible.

(As an aside, @ mentioning staff directly isn't the best way to get our attention - we work shifts and generally take turns to monitor the Site Stuff area).

Innocenta · 13/12/2021 15:14

Sorry about that, Michael! I won't do that again. Didn't mean to offend.
