Random ads popping up and covering content

Any idea what's going on? I keep on getting different adverts popping up and covering the content in threads - practically every one I open gets one by about the 3rd or 4th post in. Having to click on the x in the corner of it to get rid of it every time.

It is starting to get really annoying now.

Desktop version, Chrome.

It looks like you’ve loaded a 300x250 creative into a 300x50 slot in Google Ad Manager.

Following on from this, in the last week or so I've also had advert "jingles" start up suddenly, when I haven't clicked on anything at all, and am just trying to red the thread.
Very intrusive and very annoying.

Hi Sonia - thanks for replying. Well, I can only remember today, and it happened twice - the last one was when I was reading the "anyone else dreading seeing their in-laws this Christmas?" thread. Hope that helps x

I’m getting a huge Jet2 ad popping open on the Telly Addicts Forum. Doesn’t seem to be happening g on any of the other ones I use.

I’m not sure if mine is same issue but I have an advert box at the top of my screen (iPhone) and it covers about a third of my screen and is immovable.

This has just started for me too, android phone, on all threads. No option to close the ads and makes reading really annoying

I'm not getting the ads but am getting "pop-up blocked" about once every couple of minutes
