I have been sent an email from Mumsnet stating a poster has sent me a private message.
It then says the only way to view it is to create a user name but surely my Mumsnet username is ok to use ?
I also have to give my password.
Is this a genuine message ?
There's a lot more palaver than before.

I now can't find the Mumsnet message in my In Box or Bin or in Spam. Hmm

Hello shrugitoff

If you have any concerns at all that your account has been compromised we'd always advise you to change your password.

It looks like there is no trace of the email claiming to be from us in your email account. Is that right? If we've got this wrong and you can find it please could you screen shot it and send it over to [email protected]

Thank you Flowers

Thanks Caroline.
There is no sign of it.

That's funny isn't it, how could an email just vanish?

shrugitoff · 07/11/2021 11:19

Thank you for questioning me @JanileJones. I then redoubled my efforts and tried another email account and found it in a "bin".

It says, when i press the prompt to view the message "To use the Private Messaging System please choose a username. This is the name your PMs and talk messages will appear to be from... "

Is my username "shrugitoff" not the one to use ?? Have i to choose another one ? Shock
It was easier before.
You got a message and replied.

Hi shrugitoff

As this doesn't look to be an issue effecting other users at the moment we think the quickest way to get this sorted is for you to drop us an email at contactus

If you email us from the account linked to your mumsnet account we can take a look to see what's going on here. When you do email us, do send a screenshot of the email you found from us and we can take things from there.

'found it in a "bin"'

Oh sorry just when you said 'I now can't find the Mumsnet message in my In Box or Bin or in Spam' I thought you meant it wasn't in the bin. Anywayyy Confused.
