Mumsnet sinks to new low

Some threads now have black boxes blocking the top of the thread, usually the original post and the replies immediately beneath. The black box tells me to rotate my browser, presumably for an ad. Ridiculous, can’t even read the thread!

I'm not seeing that, are you using the app?

iwantavuvezela · 25/09/2021 14:44

yes that has come up for me - really weird

onethird · 25/09/2021 14:51

I had an advert covering the first post in a thread this morning. It said to scroll to continue reading the content, but when I scrolled it went down to the second post in the thread. When I clicked on another thread and then came back I could read it.

Orangejuicemarathoner · 25/09/2021 14:53

Ive had that, its rubbish, isn't it

Journeyofthedragons · 25/09/2021 14:56

DuckDuckGo browser for Android removes adverts.

Thank me later Smile

DrunkenKoala · 25/09/2021 14:56

Been getting that for a few days, goes when I refresh the screen. My phone seems okay, it’s only my iPad and that’s been okay today.

TintinIsBack · 25/09/2021 15:22

Yes I've had that too.
I just reload the page and it disappears.
But yes it's crap.

MN has a topic "Site stuff" where you can report this and they take a look at those technical glitches.

willrufford · 25/09/2021 15:39

Duckduckgo is my usual.

NoBetterthanSheShouldBe · 25/09/2021 15:49

I’ve had this on iPad.

Datsandcogs · 25/09/2021 15:52

Yes, on my iPad.

newusername2009 · 25/09/2021 16:41

Just got this. I’m off mumsnet now - too much hard work

KimMumsnet · 25/09/2021 17:03

Hello, all. Thanks so much for bringing this to our attention - we're sorry to hear you're having these issues, it sounds really frustrating.

@Datsandcogs we hope you don't mind but we're moving your thread to Site Stuff now.

escapeyou · 25/09/2021 17:54

I’ve had this today. I also had it earlier on in the week.

PinkBuffalo · 25/09/2021 18:02

I have had this too! I did report to mumsnet with screenshots on a thread in site stuff. I cannot see any of the thread when that pops up

Evenstar · 25/09/2021 18:03

I had this earlier this week, lost a message I had typed as well

Hi ILoveAllRainbowsx - we're so sorry this is making life hard; would you post a screengrab for us here so we can take a look at what you're experiencing.

Don’t mind at all, far more appropriate place, just didn’t think to put it there myself! Thank you
