ADHD/ASD board

Lots of threads about the above in adults recently.

As it’s underdiagnosed in women, and women with these conditions are largely ignored, can we have a board to talk to each other on please?

That sounds like a fantastic idea.

Hi @GetTaeFuck

Thanks so much for the suggestion - we will keep our eye on this thread and keep note of the interest in the topic. Flowers

The Mumsnetters with SNs board was sort of set up for this, though the title isn't great.

Adirondack · 31/07/2021 00:13

Great idea. I’m awaiting diagnosis and find it hard to find the relevant adult ADHD threads as they pop up all over the place. Would be great to have a dedicated board.

Berkeys · 31/07/2021 00:22

Yes please for an ADHD board!

MotionActivatedDog · 31/07/2021 00:22

Yes please

MazDazzle · 31/07/2021 00:34

My daughter has ASD. I identify with some of her traits. It would be great if there was a section of MN where I could ask advice from mumsnetters who are on the spectrum.

WhiskyIrnBru · 31/07/2021 00:35

Would Def be interested in this!

Councillorbrian · 31/07/2021 00:49

Oh God yes that would be amazing. Currently in the, wait I identify waaaay to much with all the autistic/ADHD stuff in my timeline, would be good to have a board for adults, not just parents of kids with.

myhouseismadeofpaper · 31/07/2021 00:54

Yes pls

Adirondack · 31/07/2021 09:34

Think it would be good to have two separate boards, one ADHD and one ASD. Although often comorbid, they are separate and very different conditions.

This! They are really very different conditions.
GetTaeFuck · 31/07/2021 13:05

I agree re being very different conditions, I just thought that it would be helpful to have both in one place due to the level of co-morbidity in women, and that the traffic on 2 separate boards might be too low for anyone to get any real support.

Yes please. An ASD board for adults would be great.

Serenschintte · 31/07/2021 13:20

Yes please

Brendabigbaps · 31/07/2021 13:24

Yes please

LoganRoy · 03/08/2021 21:12

Yes please. As a suspected ADHDer I watch the threads, meaning to come back to them and lose track of them Blush so it would be good to have them all in one place.

Jakarta · 03/08/2021 21:14

Good idea! I’ve noticed an increase in threads too

Winecheesesleep · 03/08/2021 21:16

BertieBotts · 04/08/2021 16:23

We already have one Confused Why do MNHQ not know what boards they have? You can forgive us ADHDers for forgetting!

You have to opt in to see it in Active:

BertieBotts · 04/08/2021 16:24

Agree it could do with a better name and I don't know that it needs to be hidden. Although possibly. Not really sure on that one.

Maybe it should be renamed to neurodiversity or something like that.

Giantshoulders · 04/08/2021 17:41

Yes please

itswonkylampshade · 04/08/2021 17:45

Yes please - agree with a “neurodiversity” board. Mother of a teen girl who I am near certain has adhd…although can’t get a referral or any interest from anyone in looking at this as the signs are subtle and she doesn’t act out.
