Ad blocker installed pop up

I have a browser which blocks adverts. On my PC and same on my phone.
Now every time I log onto MN I get a really annoying pop up notification telling me an ad/script blocking software 'is interfering with this page'.
No, it isn't. It's stopping me seeing ads that I don't want to see.
How do I make it go away?

it'd be nice if it would stop coming back up once i've dismissed it too!

i'd disable my adblocker if i wanted to see ads, i dont need to be nagged every time i log in.

anuffername · 30/09/2020 15:08

It's driving me potty.

"please disable your adblocker or sign up to MN premium"

No, I don't want to sign up to MN premium and I am not going to disable my (free) adblocker which I use so that I don't have to see the annoying adverts for things that are of no interest to me.

StarCat2020 · 30/09/2020 15:22

What would happen if everybody started using an adblocker but not MN Premium?

How would it stay online?

U2HasTheEdge · 30/09/2020 17:30

Yep, really pisses me off.

Most people aren't going to disable their ad blocker, and will simply leave instead.

KatyaZamolodchikova · 30/09/2020 17:33

Same. Although honestly the pop up is still far less irritating than the ads I installed it to block!

MN premium needs to be a much more compelling offer than it currently is. In addition to that, given the site's poor track record with data security, there is no way I would be giving them my payment details.

The bloody thing used to go away after a while.. now it just stays there.

Still not turning off my ad blocker.

Meh. I've turned mine off. MN isn't free to run. I report the worst ones and block a few that are just annoying.

If I turn my ad blocker off the page is like this, impossible to read.

Hello,

Are we able to have screenshots and device/browsers?

RiftGibbon · 02/10/2020 21:46

I'm using Brave browser.

Mine is the same as the above.

I'm using Opera on a mac book.

0blio · 03/10/2020 11:51

My previous screenshot was using Samsung browser, no adblocker and the screen is unreadable as covered by ads. This screenshot is when I use Brave browser which has a built in ad blocker and can't be disabled I don't think. The message covers links and buttons so they can't be used.
Mumsnet has been a huge source of support to me over the last 11/12 years but my details were among those revealed a while back when the site was hacked and for that reason I'm reluctant to provide my bank details for premium membership.

Any update @MNHQ?

soniamumsnet · 08/10/2020 10:16

We're taking a look at this issue and will update you as soon as we have more information. Thanks for your patience. Flowers

Doesn't seem to be happening on my desktop now - but still on the phone, covering much of the screen.

Still seeing it on my android phone (Huawei).
Anyone else?

Still happening on my laptop..
Hello,

Would you mind sending us a screenshot?

RiftGibbon · 08/11/2020 21:10

And still on my phone :(

Well, it's gone today.
But - a privacy notice which I have to say I am okay with keeps looming every time I do anything now.😳

RiftGibbon · 10/11/2020 08:09

This is the message. Every time I go to a thread, or back to the home page, or refresh a page...

And after posting comments too.

Hi @RiftGibbon along with many other sites, and to follow recommendations from the IAB, we've implemented a consent platform on Mumsnet. This gives you even more choice over the data that can be collected and used - which is why you are now seeing a new pop-up with a lot of privacy options.

This link should be helpful if you need any more information:
