Is there any likelihood of a "no in the news" button?

Carmenere · 10/09/2007 23:01

God yes, that must be fairly simple seeing as it exists for the selling boards and the chat one.

Thanks Justine, that's great. I am a pathetic wuss who often avoids newspapers irl so it would be lovely to do so here too if I feel like not reading anything awful.

Hmm... I quite like some of the news threads though.
Can't we have a "no lurid speculation threads" button instead?

JustineMumsnet · 10/09/2007 23:05

SueW don't worry - we can have it all - customising Talk is the next big thing on Tech's agenda.

JustineMumsnet · 10/09/2007 23:06

Well not quite all I guess HumphreyCushion...

Why Califrau? I often check 'no buying and selling' because it doesn't interest me. Why shouldn't I be able to do the same with news?

OP posts:
Gobbledigook · 10/09/2007 23:10

We should be able to do it with all topics, imo.

Breast adn bottle threads do my noggin in. Not just the 'debates', just the whole general topic. It's irrelevant to me.

And the blardy ante adn post natal club ones - they fill half of active convos.

why do you need a button? can you not simply scroll past anything you dont wish to read?

do you really need Mn to think for you. i always thought that the vast majority of Mn members were adutl women, we can juggle house/work and kids but we cannot stop ourselves from opening a thread?

come on ladies.

"do you really need Mn to think for you".

That would make things so much easier!

Can we have a button for that too please, Justine?

MerlinsBeard · 11/09/2007 12:37

mamazon its not just In the news...i fisrt suggeste dit after my m/c and was upset by seeing all the childbirth, pregnancy and birth announcemnet threads. I didn't click on them but it didn't stop it hurting me whenever i read a thread title.

MerlinsBeard · 11/09/2007 12:38

LL for proper news you shouldbe looking elsewere anyway

NOiamsportacus · 11/09/2007 12:42

If only it were this easy to customise real life. There's plenty of stuff I have to see every day that I would rather filter out or even better delete.

I just came in here to ask the very same question.

I would really like to have a "No news button"

I am sick and tired of seeing MM speculations in active topics all the time. It infuriates me. It makes me sick to the stomach.

Dinosaur · 11/09/2007 13:26

Yes, I'd like one too.
