Hello folks,

We're thinking about arranging some official AMA (Ask Me Anything) threads and we'd love to know who your dream AMA guest is.

Ever wondered what Tom Hardy dips into his tea? Lost sleep whilst thinking about how Claudia gets her hair so glossy? Curious as to whether her Maj ever settles down with Phil and a tray of snacks to binge-watch The Crown?

Or maybe you’ve wondered what working life is like for a paramedic; how successful entrepreneurs made their fortune; or what school receptionists find most annoying about their job?

Anything goes - so let your imagination run free and tell us who you’d like to see do an AMA by the 20th March to be in with a chance to win a limited edition bottle of Red Velvet Cupcake Baileys. We'll be picking four random winners from this thread.

In the meantime, you can check out some past AMAs here to get some ideas.

P.S If you want to ogle at Baileys collection of flavours, click this creamy link (but you'll need to confirm your age, first).

Work life balance questions

I want to ask the government why they refused to invest in their own people.

Why do they continually refuse to properly educate the population to a high standard and prefer to import people educated elsewhere to fill skill shortages?

Why do they not invest property in childcare so that women can afford to work, not loose their career (and become low paid workers), pay full pension contributions and more tax?

Why do they let people take all their pension at 55 as a lump sum knowing that that they will just spend it all quickly and just end up on benefits?

Why do they claim to care about the environment and then are too spineless to put policies through that would actually combat it?

Why are they not sorting out public transport so that it's it a realistic and affordable option instead of the car in non London areas?

Why are they not abolishing right to buy on council houses as most of them in London just get bought by private landlords and rented back to the council and many times the original rent?

thegirlwhowaited · 05/03/2020 14:26

I would like to ask Gok Wan if he could un-munter me.

Because if he couldn’t, I’d need the Baileys to make me feel better.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 05/03/2020 14:40

I want to ask Sue Perkins and Susan Calman if they’d like to be my friend.

Willowkins · 05/03/2020 19:22

I'd ask women in their 70s and older to tell me their stories of all the amazing things they did. I'd like to know if they ever got the recognition they deserved.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 05/03/2020 19:25

I'd ask Boris Johnson how many children he has, and if he actually knows.

FromTheAllotment · 05/03/2020 20:07

@Lightofthephoenix thanks! I am enlightened ShockGrin

Kittyme · 05/03/2020 20:38

My little ones would like to ask Santa what he does for the remaining 364 days of the year. I would like to ask St Nicholas who delivered his Christmas presents when he was a young boy.

MissMudskipper · 05/03/2020 20:48

I'd like to ask Victoria Pendleton given all the sports she's participated in over the years what does she feel is her greatest achievement. Also, does she ever foresee herself trying to climb Everest again?

ScorpionQueen · 05/03/2020 20:58

I'd love to ask Marilyn Monroe what really went on. Was she really involved with both Kennedy brothers and the Mafia? What really happened that night? She was such a beautiful woman who should have had it all.

Wauden · 05/03/2020 21:49

I'd like to ask Lord Lucan a few questions.

Happyadventurer · 05/03/2020 22:27

I would ask my father why he felt he had the right to beat the crap out of us on a very regular basis. What mechanism said he could do this and that causing us such pain that would fuck us up for life.

Before anyone asks, I’m ok. Would just like him to tell me why it was alright to do it.

abitoflight · 05/03/2020 22:34

I'd ask DDog why she doesn't walk

Blondie1092 · 05/03/2020 22:44

I would ask my granda (my best friend, he died in 2015) to tell me his whole life story, from start to finish 🤠 he was the funniest wee man I ever knew 💕

GloGirl · 06/03/2020 07:47

I'd really like to ask Boris Johnson how many kids he has.

And I also really liked when the creator of Bing was on. The programmes seem to mundane when you're watching them everyday to soothe a toddler, it was really insightful learning a bit more about what goes into making a programme.

Eg, Amma is a bit useless but that's because not all care givers have the same styles and kids need to get used to the disparity.

HavelockVetinari · 06/03/2020 10:25

I would really like someone from RCOG to come and answer questions about women's health and women's healthcare.

I would ask them what they suggest the government does first to help eliminate racial inequalities in obstetrics and what might be the reasons for black women being 5 times more likely to die in pregnancy or post childbirth than white women.

dellacucina · 06/03/2020 13:33

I'd like to ask people who were formerly notorious/famous what life is like for them now that they lead more normal lives (and also to know about the impact the notoriety has had on them)

Examples:

  • Monica Lewinsky
  • Chelsea Clinton
  • any child star who aged out of the profession
  • any former Olympian. I guess it would be best to get one who's now a mum due to the nature of this site and our general interests.
dellacucina · 06/03/2020 13:37

As an addendum to the above, something that I think would be really topical here would be someone who famously survived domestic violence or a criminal attack, though this obviously could raise sensitive issues or be difficult to moderate

dellacucina · 06/03/2020 13:41

Further addendum: the singer Tiffany is an example who comes to mind, but it looks like she may still be chasing fame. Still, could be interesting.

TheSoapyFrog · 06/03/2020 17:30

I'd ask DPD where the hell my parcel is.

viques · 06/03/2020 17:38

First of all I would like to ask MNHQ why Baileys and not a proper drink like gin.

Secondly I would like to ask the head of the crown prosecution service how they justify their abysmal record in first of all failing to prosecute more rape cases and secondly ensuring that judges are encouraged to send rapists to prison for the maximum available terms .

FuckThisWind · 06/03/2020 18:11

Medical Professionals. Specifically Cancer Specialists / Neuro Surgeons.

Airplane Pilots

Politicians nah, they would just lie

WantToBeMum · 06/03/2020 18:34

This doesn't work at all as an AMA, but if I could ask anyone anything then I would ask my grandparents (now deceased) whether they knew that I loved them.
