It's back again - Random thread opening

Ages ago there was an issue where on the mobile site you would click on a thread title in Active and a random thread 3-5 threads up the list would open instead.

Now it's back, and just as irritating.

And I tried to start a thread earlier but it says it's been auto-deleted.

Same here! Although it usually is the MN 'blue' threads that pop up for me instead of the one l want! Android phone on Chrome.

I lost count of how many times have read the Apprenticeship thread... I too thought my phone was playing up.

I think you need yo do so ethi g as a temporary patch before then. The odd thread I can deal with, but it's happening to about half the obes j try to open today. Android on a tablet, but using chrome browser.

But most of us appear to be using chrome not the app. So updating the app won't help

Is it not to do with the rendering of the advert panels on the active threads page on the mobile site? If you wait a while the page seems to jump down and then you can click successfully.

It is 17.01 on my phone (Italy) and I started trying to open this thread at 16.47.

Ridiculous. I have 5 threads in TIO and have read the Mirena coil one about 18 times trying to get here.
Surely you just need the links to be more proficiently routed? How hard can it be?

I thought it was that to start with Alun but it still does it even if I let the page load. Sometimes to a thread above it, sometimes below. Theres no logic to it.

I'm not using the app! It ate too muchxh battery.

The advert panels do make the page jump, but which thread actually opens seems to be totally random. And it was sorted since the last time - it's only been the last week that it's come back.

I'm having the same problem using chrome on an android phone. Updating the app won't help this

It is hit and miss which thread will open when you want to read a specific one so surely we won't have to wait until later on in the year for a fix

It's happening to me for threads I'm on too, opening the wrong one. In fact, that's why I'm actually here right now. And when I tap to write a post I get into the name box or to previous or next.

Sometimes I sit there waiting for the ads to load before I click just to be sure, but it takes ages.

Its a real pain in the ass and worse than it ever was. Surely sometime this year is a shit timescale for something thats causing lots of users issues..??

Chrome on android here. Trying to open a particular active thread opens any one of five or six above or below. TIO is the same. Pain in the arse.

Yep, two days of random thread-opening nonsense using Chrome / android tablet.

I might as well have an infinite number of monkeys hammering away, then at least I'd get a thread on someone building a willow cabin at their gate before the MN problem's finally fixed.
