No email updates

Suddenly in the last couple of days I'm not getting email updates about threads I'm watching, any ideas anyone? Thanks

Hi both

Are we able to check that you've got all your boxes ticked in settings?
You can do this by going to the my mumsnet box at the top right-hand side of the page.

I can't actually see a box that relates to the "I'm watching" emails, but this has only happened over the weekend, I've not changed any settings.

Hi, my emails just stopped arriving in my inbox, I had not made any changes in any of my settings, and I didn't get an email that there were replies on this thread. My post is about no emails for threads I'm watching not newsletters, which is what I assume you are referring to?

@LilyMumsnet so when I click on threads I'm watching, it shows them all, when I click into the individual thread "watch this thread" is not activated do your system has "unticked" them all, even though they are all there in a list?????

Hi @AmIbeingTreasonable sorry you've been having problems with this. Please can you let us know the browser and device that you are using?

Can you also check that you haven't accidentally hidden the thread?

First go to the main Talk page and click on 'Customise'.

Then, if you scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page, there is a blue box which says 'Ignore topics in Active Conversations'.

In this box will be a small link: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/topic-choice which takes you to a page that will show you all your active conversations, but also anything that you've excluded, and this will allow you to include that thread again.

@soniamumsnet The last email notifications I have received for watched threads was 20 November.

I have watched, contributed to and started new threads since then but I have not had any notifications by email even though those threads have been updated.

I have done all the checks as recommended above and tested that the email address that I use for Mumsnet is still working OK and it is fine.

If I go to "Threads I'm Watching", the radio button to receive email updates is checked, the updated threads are listed and I do not have any "hidden threads".

We've had a little look into this for both of you. @molesmokes you were on our unsubscribe list, so we've taken you off that and you should start to receive emails soon. If you don't please just get back to us.

@AmIbeingTreasonable are you still having issues with this? We've had a look and it seems you're getting the emails and opening them, give us a shout if there are any emails you're expecting to get that you aren't!

@GloriaMumsnet when I checked all my settings as recommended in an admin post further up, everything was set to receive the emails but I wasn't getting them. Not knowing what else to do, I ticked unwatch then watch again on each thread (very laborious) and then it worked, so there must be a glitch in your systems.

@GloriaMumsnet there's other weird stuff going on now. I just clicked the link to this thread from an email saying I've been mentioned and the link took me to another thread I'm on. I went back to the email and tried it again with the same result!

@GloriaMumsnet thankyou for looking into this. I have no idea why I would be on an "Unsubscribe" list.

I am now receiving some email notifications from threads I am active on or am watching.

However, as with the OP, when I clicked through the link in the email saying I had been mentioned in this thread the link took me to a completely different thread on a different board.

When I looked on the site to see "Threads I am on", expecting to see this one listed, there was only one listed thread listed and it was not this one. The "Threads I am on" list seems to have become "depopulated" very recently.

However, this thread is still listed in "Threads I am watching".

If the weird re-directs continue and/or the "I'm on" list does not start to rebuild itself then I will get back in touch.

Glad to hear you're getting notification emails now. Thanks for raising the issue about mention emails clicking through wrongly.

This is an issue that we fixed on Wednesday afternoon, but the fix doesn't apply retrospectively. I believe you received your emails before we fixed the problem hence them clicking through incorrectly. Sorry about that - if you have any further issues please do let us know!
