Is the Android app just not a priority for MNHQ?

I've started various threads for the issues I've had with the Android app over the past few months. To name just a few:

• "connection" errors
• can't post when including photos
• emojis all showing up as gin bottles
• all linked text replaced with "click here", some of which have the link completely removed so it's just plain text
• duplication of starred boards

I've bumped some of these over a number of months, get some replies from mods, and then... None of the issues have been resolved at all.

I'd like to know if the Android app isn't supported/prioritised so I can just give up and use the mobile browser version, which is full of ads but at least works most of the time!

We understand where you're coming from completely. Our goal, eventually, is to have both apps up and running perfectly. We've got a lot of techy work to be getting on with, but it absolutely does matter to us and it's on our list.

Thanks @LilyMumsnet. Is there any way you can share progress periodically (like how you get release notes on updated software), or have some kind of page with "in the pipeline" updates so we know what's being worked on and what to expect?

This is ridiculous. I've just posted the same message twice, with a screen shot. Got the message saying "success", but neither of the messages are here.

I have the same complaints as the OP. The repetition of starred posts is particularly annoying as it means that I can only ever see the most recent threads before the starred posts repeat. It's like being on a bloody loop. How do I get to see the older posts?

It certainly feels like android is being treated as the poor relation.

I've just tried to add a message with just a photo, and no text an although I got the "success" message, the message still didn't post.

So annoying!

Bumping as these issues are all still happening, plus another one I forgot to mention where photos don't enlarge at all when you click on them, and you can't zoom, so essentially photos are useless because they're all tiny!

We're sorry you are still experiencing these issues with the Android App. We have a plan to make improvements and fixes to the app - but unfortunately, it won't be right now. We're hoping to release an update later this year. We appreciate your patience and we will update you on new information and fixes in the app as soon as we can.

Yes the repeated threads in starred lists and the teeny-tiny photos that can't be enlarged are particularly annoying!
As is not being able to access DMs (or even know that you have any)
As is not being able to participate in (or even see) the votes in AIBU.

Second class citizens would be an improvement!
