Can't change username

I recently NC'd and now can't change back. It simply saves 'unable to save new username.'

I think if you go to where you can change username it says something along the lines of your previous usernames. If you click on that, in theory it should show all names you've used. Select the one you want. Type in your password then it should change settings. (I think!)

Hi @Wheelson - sorry you're having problems changing your username. Can you please let us know which device you're using and also which version of the site (desktop, mobile, app) so we can try to work out what's going wrong.

I'm on the app. The most updated version.

Hi there Wheelson (and others). We're really sorry about this. We know it's incredibly annoying not to be able to change username.

Tech have been looking at this and they think it's happening when there have been outages on the site. Could we ask you to try one more time and make a note of the time and date. If it still won't work could you let us know here, along with the time and date ? And any other details, eg whether you're on iphone or android? That should hopefully either confirm that that's the issue or let Tech know that it definitely isn't!

Then if you report your post, someone from the Community team should be able to have a look at your account and do the name change for you. It's obviously not a long-term solution but at least will get you able to post again.

When there's any more news we'll update the thread.

I've just tried now at 10:11am on iPhone app and it won't change it. See attached photo.

Tried at 12.13 today on iPhone app and still not working.

Thanks for you email. I've changed my username on the website but it hasn't translated over here. So do I need to stay on this username on the app until next week?

I'm having trouble with this too. Strangely it did update my name hours later though.
