gosh, I was about to come and ask about this. The other day, I was asked about 6 times , moving from one thread to another. Then I was asked again this morning. It hangs for ages too .
Desktop site on Mac with Chrome browser

LilyMumsnet · 24/02/2019 11:24

Hi both

Can we ask if you're using private browsing or an adblock at all?

TheFuckfaceWhisperer · 24/02/2019 11:25

It's been happening to me on both Android and iOS. No adblock

BrizzleMint · 24/02/2019 11:27

I keep getting this on Chrome, it doesn't happen every time as it's fine for a while and then it asks me 8 or 9 times in a row. I'm not using private browsing but I do have an adblocker, it makes no difference if I disable it.

It's happened a few times on iOS as well.

We know there's an issue happening with regards to adblocker. It might be a case of trying to get rid of the blocker altogether rather than disabling it.

DGRossetti · 24/02/2019 11:34

I don't have an adblocker on my tablet which is where I was getting the problem.

Oh, and not in private mode either.

One thing I do tend to do is open tabs in new windows, since the navigation on MN is

No adblocker here - but similar to Brizzlemimt ,lots of times , then nothing

BrizzleMint · 24/02/2019 13:29

Hell will freeze over before I get rid of the adblocker! It happens on IOS without an adblocker.

Sceptical me says that there is a different reason for MN wanting me to disable the adblocker. I have successfully used MN (and the whole Internet) with the same adblocker for over 10 years and haven't had problems with it before and only have the problem on MN intermittently - it hasn't happened today.

WhatTheNightBrings · 24/02/2019 14:00

I think it's intentional. There's only so many times you can be fucked with clicking through to deny all access, before you think 'fuck it' and just click okay to fish for all the information wanted Angry

BrizzleMint · 24/02/2019 15:14

Yeah, well it's not going to work Grin

DGRossetti · 24/02/2019 17:24

Well if nothing else, I've finally sat down and spent a happy afternoon learning how to setup my own DNS using a raspberry pi, and "pihole" Grin. With an added advantage that all my DNS queries are safe from the prying eyes of my ISP, as I've implemented DNS over HTTPS - thank you Cloudflare.

I'll see if killing off some of the domains being pulled in by MN pages has any effect.

Hi there all,

Can we just check, are you still being asked to repeatedly confirm privacy settings today? If so, could you please let us know what device and browser you're using?

DGRossetti · 25/02/2019 15:04

I only use the mobile site when I'm out and about which isn't going to happen for a while ...

OP posts:
BrizzleMint · 25/02/2019 19:42

bookbook · 26/02/2019 12:42

bookbook · 28/02/2019 21:03

marmitedoughnut · 02/03/2019 05:54

Yes, Windows with Chrome.

BrizzleMint · 02/03/2019 06:41

bookbook · 02/03/2019 23:17

glad its not just me Brizzle - still at least a couple of times a day here

lovely123 · 03/03/2019 00:22

Hi
I’ve been asked over 10 times today, any updates please?

LoniceraJaponica · 03/03/2019 00:31

This happened to me earlier today. Firefox on my laptop.

SurgeHopper · 03/03/2019 00:40

This happened to me loads a few weeks ago, but all quiet on the western front atm....

CruelAndUnusualParenting · 14/03/2019 21:21

I'm not bothering with Mumsnet because the cookie messages are too much hassle. I came back to see if it's fixed and it hasn't improved.

brizzlemint · 15/03/2019 03:20

Still happening here on a daily basis, laptop with chrome.
