But, did I just see a NESCAFE advert????

Erm, hi - haven't read the latest posts, but will do that now, promise. Just to let you know we've taken down all of our ad agency's skys (the long ad to the right) on Talk. If you see that advertisement again in a banner or somewhere else on the site, please please let us know. You can use [email protected] or [email protected] or both would be best.

Sorry for not doing last night - I'm not sure what Tech was doing, but I was in bed.

JJMumsnet · 02/06/2007 10:07

It was on your profile, VVV? Argh.

Ok, those ads need to go, too - let me get another cup of coffee and we'll get them down.

Please do let us know if you see it elsewhere - it'll be somewhere I missed if so, not something we're trying to slip past you!

Snaf · 02/06/2007 10:20

Top work, MNHQ

UCM - huh?

DimpledThighs · 02/06/2007 10:21

no JJ I think she put it on her profile so we could see what she was talking about (I think!)

BTW "evilbastardbabykillingbastardnescafenestlebastardfuckers" - hunker is gone but she lives on through things like this!!!

JJMumsnet · 02/06/2007 10:21

Hi again. Olivia has just explained to me that VVV posted the screengrab on her profile and didn't see the ad on her profile. The script for the ads on those pages is different than the one for these pages (ie the Talk pages) so we're going to leave it for now.

Is that ok? We'll change it anywhere you see it, promise. It's just that it's a lovely day and I need to buy a birthday present for a party and take the boys to the park... if we don't get it done right away, that's why.

JJMumsnet · 02/06/2007 10:22

Thanks DT! I will get more coffee and hope my brian kicks into gear soon.

NotQuiteCockney · 02/06/2007 10:27

Oh, JJ, I saw your boys near the park yesterday. I think I confused whoever was with them by greeting them.

NotQuiteCockney · 02/06/2007 10:28

(Hey, will I see you at a birthday party tomorrow lunchtimeish? In Dalston?)

JJMumsnet · 02/06/2007 10:38

They had a fab day yesterday - hope you got to see the helicopter. I heard the pilot was great with the kids.

Might see you tomorrow as we will divide and conquer; not sure if I'll be there.

NotQuiteCockney · 02/06/2007 10:40

What helicopter? Huh?

No, apparently we missed it, which is a pity as DS2 is mad for helicopters ...

UCM · 02/06/2007 22:59

OK, a need to clarify here:-

MN is a business after all. It has lots of people coming on here, not just 'the few'.

It was possibly started as a good Mummy site, but now has to run as a business. A lot of people on here don't buy from the stores advertised as they have found others cheaper..... are you with me?

So to listen to the regulars would be madness indeed, think of the new people and the amount of advertising it generates.

UCM · 02/06/2007 23:01

Just my opnion of course, but I bet that MNHQ are making a fair few bob right now.

Carmenere · 02/06/2007 23:05

I broadly agree that mn hq should have whoever they want as advertisers HOWEVER even I would have a problem with them advertising Nestle products as I feel they work against mothers who have no voice.

UCM · 02/06/2007 23:18

I doubt very much that it would close MN down though.

Carmenere · 02/06/2007 23:19

No but if you did a straw poll I'd say that most mners probably would prefer mn not to advertise Nestle

UCM · 02/06/2007 23:40

I agree

UCM · 02/06/2007 23:42

The people who would vote though would be old timers to be honest. New people to this site (and I have been here for years and didn't realise until recently) may not know about this problem.

DimpledThighs · 03/06/2007 19:40

JJmumsnet - does your brian like coffee then?
