you don;t ask for much do you

but yes, i agree!

StyleCouncil · 07/05/2007 14:51

I can't stand her voice - she has a great life story though.

LieselVentouse · 07/05/2007 15:03

I dont like her
I remember her last year on Big Brothers Little Brother and went right off her

StyleCouncil · 07/05/2007 15:09

yes she does come across that way - very perky - but her own story is a very interesting one. She is a recovering alcoholic with a witty outlook on life in Limerick.

lissielou · 07/05/2007 15:13

oooh, i d love to chat to her, rachels holiday is one of my fave books of all time!

southeastastra · 07/05/2007 15:21

yes i'd like to talk to her too, does she do a column i marie claire? it's very funny

InTheseShoes · 07/05/2007 16:32

Marian is ace, she has a fab website with a monthly newsletter www.mariankeyes.com which is very entertaining and not dissimilar to her books in tone.

I do know that her childlessness is an issue for her, I wonder if asking for a chat with her would be prudent in those circumstances? I suppose she can only say no.

unknownrebelbang · 07/05/2007 16:33

I keep read Marion Keyes as Milton Keynes.

Time for a trip to the optician, methinks.

rowan1971 · 07/05/2007 16:43

I like her - she the only chick-litty author I have any time for.

StyleCouncil · 07/05/2007 18:15

Mumsnet has plenty of mums ttc so I dont' think it would offend her in any way.

Enid · 07/05/2007 18:15

MamaG · 07/05/2007 21:42

OP posts:
Enid · 07/05/2007 21:43

i hate chick lit

cannot read it (apart from mumsnet obv )

hermykne · 07/05/2007 21:44

style coucil - does she not live in dublin?

rowan1971 · 07/05/2007 21:46

Honest, Enid. Any book witrh a line-drawing of a long-limbed poppety-type lady-boo with a glass of champers and a handbag usually has me trying the exits. I read Proper Literature for Eggheads, me. But MK is unusually acute, and has a really good ear for dialogue. Her jokes are also really quite funny.

MamaG · 07/05/2007 21:46

Mumsnet. the ultimate chick lit

OP posts:
Enid · 07/05/2007 21:46

nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

MamaG · 07/05/2007 21:47

MamaG · 07/05/2007 21:48
