with offense being taken at all manner of inconsequential things?

OP posts:
throckenholt · 03/05/2007 10:33

um - I haven't. Who is offended ?

SherlockLGJ · 03/05/2007 10:34

If you are talking about the vulgar ANatal threads well then no, I don't think it is.

ShowOfHands · 03/05/2007 10:35

No, no, no, no, no.

Full moon was yesterday. Can we not have another one of these, please?

I yearn for a good pirate sex thread.

DrNortherner · 03/05/2007 10:35

Yes I think so. It's get blardy ridiculous.

I am losing heart with it tbh. Have been here nearly 5 years and never said that before.

It's not doing it for me anymore.

foxinsocks · 03/05/2007 10:36

No

but these threads are tired and old

thought you had gone anyway?

Twiglett · 03/05/2007 10:36

no .. I still find you amusing

but if you are meaning the thread titles they never used to be so vulgar or un-amusing. There is a HUGE difference between a foul thread title that drops off in a couple of days .. but an ongoing chat situation like ante and post-natal should consider other users of the site .. and just do the jokes / swearing in the text which only those entering the thread will see .. and then its fair game

its about respect

sock it to me, sock it to me!

PeterAndreFanCLub · 03/05/2007 10:40

totally agree
although humour more cutting htan it ever was before

rowan1971 · 03/05/2007 10:40

If we're talking about the antenatal threads - I've no objection to vulgar jokes that are properly funny. But these are just a bit witless, and hence irritating when you have to see them again and again.

FiveFingeredFiend · 03/05/2007 10:54

i think 'Precious' and 'exclusive' are the Mumsnet watch words of the moment.

NadineBaggott · 03/05/2007 10:56

yes my pressssssshhus!

Twiglett · 03/05/2007 10:56

act-u-ally any joke is dull with repetition .. that's another reason it should be in the thread because then you read it once only

honestly the only joke that stands the test of endless repetition has been proved to be "What do you do with a wombat?"

Twiglett · 03/05/2007 10:57

have seen neither precious nor exlusive

but am loving Nadine's singalong

noddyholder · 03/05/2007 10:57

yes in answer to op not read the rest

VeniVidiVickiQV · 03/05/2007 10:58

[bleary eyed]

What....? Have I woken up two months ago?

quadrophenia · 03/05/2007 10:58

oh someone tell me about the antenatal threads, how an earth can these be offensive, presumably i have missed something

SoupDragon · 03/05/2007 10:58

The antenatal thread titles aren't done to be funny though, they seem to generally be a deliberate attempt to offend people.

quadrophenia · 03/05/2007 11:01

I don't get it

piglit · 03/05/2007 11:01

Agree with Soupy. Reminds of those whispering gaggle of 13 year olds you used to get in the playground.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 03/05/2007 11:04

Well yes, but, we arent 13 are we, so I am generally trying to ignore it.

They know how the majority of us feel - if they choose to be childish/hormonal (?) about it, then I really cant muster up the energy to be pissed off about it. Because I am an adult.

I therefore bury my head in a good b/f or weaning thread.....which, sooner or later one of the fuckers will stumble onto

notsolilKel · 03/05/2007 11:04

OK, sorry, but we are NOT on a mission to offend anyone! Get a sense of humour, please!!!

rowan1971 · 03/05/2007 11:04

I'm not offended. Well, I am affended, but by the assumption on the part of the thread-titlers that the use of the word 'fanjo' is in some way hilarious and/or scurrilous. When in fact, in itself, it's just a mimsy euphemism for people who are frightened of their own genitals.

If you really want to shock people, why not use some proper anatomical terms?

VeniVidiVickiQV · 03/05/2007 11:06

Dya think they could spell them though rowan?

notsolilKel · 03/05/2007 11:06

Sorry forgot my manners. In answer to the OP, yes.
