A lot of the comments about food are things that pregnant women are allowed to eat according to NHS. This article perpetuates myths.

It is seriously wrong that advice contrary to that published by NHS

www.nhs.uk/conditions/pregnancy-and-baby/pages/foods-to-avoid-pregnant.aspx#cheese

is being perpetuated on a British website.

welshweasel · 23/12/2017 08:08

Totally agree. Stilton and smoked salmon saved me when I was pregnant at Xmas. And deep fried Brie.....yum!

hazeyjane · 23/12/2017 08:10

Am I reading it wrong. The nhs recommends avoiding the things that are in the article about what you have to avoid - sift cheese, pate etc. What is the problem?

hazeyjane · 23/12/2017 08:13

Ah ok, I see that nhs list says smoked salmon, nuts and cooked brie ok.

pastabest · 23/12/2017 08:17

It says to avoid smoked salmon and Stilton which the NHS says are fine.

Hello @Chaosofcalm, thanks so much for letting us know. We've alerted our content bods and will get back to you as soon as we can.

TinselToesToniMumsnet · 23/12/2017 14:47

Our Content bods are on the case.
They have removed the references to Stilton and smoked salmon.
Have a lovely Christmas.

Hang on... Am I allowed blue Stilton? I thought all cheese with mould in/on it was off the menu? Or does it just mean that stuff like white Stilton with apricots is ok?

welshweasel · 24/12/2017 09:36

Hard blue cheese is fine. Fill your boots with Stilton!

AdorableMisfit · 24/12/2017 09:53

Excellent! Thank you for clearing that up. :)
