Mumsnet mates is so you can set your photos to be available only to some people, who you choose.

you mean there's a clique on here called mumsnet mates?

it's just a thing for the photos... if you want to show off your bratling to a hand-picked adoring internet audience.

it is a facility where you can only allow your 'mates' to see your profile. I have 5 mates on mine. Although I don't think they know they are my 'mates'

I think it's a list you can put your fave posters on and only they can see your profile IIRC.

I think the mumsnet mates thing was so you can only invite certain people to be allowed to look at your photies/profile

but I don't think it was ever activated as everyone got a bit oomphy about it. As people might be upset if they twigged they weren't one of Your Mates and couldn't look at your profile
