grey bar across the top

There's now a big grey block at the top of the screen - possibly where an advert should go - but it's on every page, and it really reduces the screen size, and the things that are normally at the top of the page, so you have to keep scrolling back and forth to read things properly.

This is Firefox, on a Mac desktop.

me too - however it is not a blank grey oblong - it has #ask about asthma information in it.
I use firefox.

Now its gone, just the ad space at the top which disappears as I scroll. off to reinstate adblocker

I have done the adblocker request but it is still there so obviously it misses a few.

not gone for me yet. Definitely still there, hanging around and being very irritating! I could see if it was just on the front pages instead of the ad, but it follows to all the pages and gets in the way of reading things properly because it's mucked up the layout. It's not even as if the whole page had been shoved down, but just part of it.

Its disappearing for me, but only after a few seconds. I think whatever ad style they are trying isn't quite closing as it should. The grey box is different sizes but its blank so obviously something isn't quite right.

I came looking for a thread on this because it is seriously pissing me off today.

We have slow internet, and the bar at the top steals half of the screen until every freaking ad fully downloads, and then it slowly vanishes upwards.

I had that too, but I use Adblocker so I opened that and "blocked" the new box and all sorted.

Mine is still there too. Very annoying, keeps popping up and down and blocks half the screen. Most of the time it doesn't even contain an ad (no ad blocker used here). Please get rid.......

Mine disappears oh-so-slowly a tiny bit at a time. Well, it moves up a tiny bit at a time, and only if I do a bit of scrolling.

As if there weren't enough scrolling problems, recently, sigh follows exasperated sigh.

I'm getting this as well and I'm finding it's making me feel sick the way it keeps coming and going and covering the screen.

I've stopped using another site because they've implemented this as it quickly became unusable. The ads are ones that move as well (i can't get adblocker as my iOS is too old and can't upgrade to one where one would work) which is awful if you have sight issues at the best of times never mind always covering half the screen permently.
