Can we have a 'Deleted Threads' topic?

So, I posted this suggestion on one of the many threads that got deleted today but I am starting a new thread to put my suggestion forward again. My suggestion is this:

Why don't MNHQ make a Topic called 'Deleted Threads' - when a thread gets zapped, it can be popped in there with just the title visible and a deletion message. That way, if a thread you have been following has disappeared, that can be your first port of call to see if it is there and it will prevent countless posters started threads saying "What happened to that thread...?" and TAAT.

Just an idea - might save you some work, MNHQ! If this idea won't work, it would be interesting to know why. Just a thought really...

50shades you hit every point! It should be a sticky at the top of the new topic, just to save everyone from having to type Grin

Under The Bridge

(As in water... and trolls)

Adding my support to the idea of a Deleted Threads title in Site Stuff, please.

Flowers just for you. Oh no, not as a bribe, never that Wink

I like "I'm just here for the deletion message" :)

It will stop people bumping the thread while it's still active as well, posting just to see it when it's deleted.

You'll have to sort the algorithm (?) so that it doesnt show in active/trending though

NewLife4Me · 30/05/2016 19:43

I would like a deleted thread topic as if you go away for a while after posting quite often you have no idea why they were gone.
It doesn't give enough info.
The worst is going off to do something, coming back and it's gone before you have posted or rtft.
Also, I am nosey and want to know things.
Like the troll who just got deleted, who said they had lots of threads that would be deleted that people had posted on.

Sparklingbrook · 30/05/2016 20:18

If it sorts out the 'What happened to the thread' threads it would be a good thing. People know TAATs aren't allowed and yet they still start them. Confused

Once a thread is deleted I tend to forget all about it, and not really care what happened.

Oops, MaryZ - I saw your thread after I'd bumped this! Oh well, hopefully both threads will get MNHQ talking about this again!

I think this is a good idea too.

I agree that something simple like 'Deleted Threads' in Site Stuff with just the title and the deletion message would be best.

BeyondTellsEveryoneRealFacts · 07/06/2016 19:01

Actually, thats a thought. Would just a thread here with the basic details (title, site area, poster) and reason work and be easier to set up?

Perhaps with posting for us mere mortals turned off, so only hq can comment on it?

TendonQueen · 07/06/2016 19:40

Beyond that's exactly what I thought and posted earlier. No discussion, purely listings of the deleted threads from MNHQ.

emotionsecho · 07/06/2016 19:45

MamofTwo I posted my support for this idea on Maryz's thread, your idea is great and I add my support.

bumbleymummy · 08/06/2016 09:52

I've been thinking more about this. Even though I think it would be good to know if a thread has been deleted, I'm not sure this would stop all the TAAT discussions. I think people still want to talk about what happened and why the thread was deleted and what had given the troll away etc. I suppose it's only natural to want to talk and ask questions if people feel they've been duped.

Butteredparsnips · 08/06/2016 21:12

Been thinking about this today after working my way the daft thread from this afternoon, knowing full well that it would be deleted when I got to the end why do I do this? to be honest I would like some sort of what happened there then update even if it is just to confirm my suspicions
