Why can't I change my username back to an old one?

The old name is listed there when I go into 'My Mumsnet'. I fill the details in the box, give the password, etc, but when I press the button to make the changes the page just goes completely blank. When I open a new tab I am still logged in under the new username.

Been trying for a few days now, why would this be?

Oh, I see there is another thread about this! I am using Chrome.

So sorry you're having trouble changing your username. As you've seen, there's another thread running about this very topic, here. We're going to close this one now so all the answers will be in one place.
