Why is it that on my Mac when I click on the link to open the thread I instead get a download of a textedit document?

Does anyone else have this problem?

I get something similar. Here's a pic:

I've had the same with 2 other threads: "Bequesting/Gifting a copyright" and "AIBU toast them NOT to buy me a birthday gift". When I click on the link in active threads it downloads a zero bytes TextEdit doc and doesn't take me to the thread. I'm also using a Mac.

I click on the link which I expect to take me to the discussion. Instead it does as chrisrobin says.

Don't know if it's specific to Macs, or is happening on all computers.

I've clicked that link and it's done the same. I'm on a laptop.

I'm on my phone and the link downloaded as a file to my phone but wouldn't open

Yup, same - on a windows PC using Chrome.
