A number of us here have a love of pen porn and wanted to know if there was a grubby little corner you could stick us into??

And if MN wanted to create special personalised pens for us as well we will love you forever...

For ultimate pencils, you need these. Pedlars used to sell them and reduced them all massively in a sale so I acquired lots, along with the amazing long point 2 stage pencil sharpeners. I am hoarding them very carefully.

here you go - Bargain Grin

Palmer

It's not financial, the reason I do t have endless amounts of stationery, it's the fact I have a 3yo DD who would likely try to colour in her Peppa books with my antique gold nibbed dip pens. Grin

Just look t these... Imagine the beautiful writing that could adorn beautiful parchment, rolled and secured with a stunning silken ribbon, maybe a personalised wax seal.... Wow.... Then imagine finding your toddler scribbling in her colouring books with them... Eek. Shock

Seeyou - what you need is better stationery storage. DH bought me a chest like this - I actually use it for sewing stuff, but it would make great childproof pen storage too.

I was thinking more like:

Just going to leave this here in case anyone wins the lottery or DH needs an idea for my birthday

stealthsquiggle · 02/05/2016 15:19

We once found a full size chest of drawers version of that - it was about £6000 and meanie DH wouldn't buy it for me

I could never have brought myself to spoil the beautiful matchiness of it by actually using anything, of course.

I used to love browsing stationery at WHSmith before they went downhill (as has been discussed extensively on here). I loved their 120-page exercise books for writing diaries.

But what I liked more than that was paper from Staples with a very faint watermark background, such as a sea with waves, or a forest, or a table with wine and grapes.

underrugsswept · 02/05/2016 17:55

Can you lovely fellow stationery-fetishists help me out? I'm after a pencil case where I can actually see / organise my pens. Rummaging around until I find the neon pink with sparkles right one drives me nuts.

Have you considered a clear drawer set like:

www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Osco-Office-Desk-Storage-Acrylic-3-Drawer-Chest-Organizer-Stationery-Tidy-Clear-/182093389197

Or do you want a traditional pencil case type deal?

underrugsswept · 02/05/2016 18:12

I'd like something I can stick in my bag and take to work; I switch between working at home and the office during the week and feel the need to keep my pens with me at all times Blush. That looks like a great idea for my desk at home though.

underrugsswept · 02/05/2016 18:14

Oh and MNHQ, if it isn't already obvious, another vote for The Stationery Cupboard here.

underrugsswept · 02/05/2016 18:19

That sort of thing is ideal. Do you think the elastic would stretch to holding pens as opposed to pencils?

stealthsquiggle · 02/05/2016 18:25

I have made pencil wraps like that as presents before. An alternative to elastic is pockets. They're pretty easy to make once you get past all the measuring.

underrugsswept · 03/05/2016 19:15

I'm useless with anything vaguely creative so have bought one like this. The reviews suggest it'll stretch to holding pens too. Thanks!

That's rather lovely under
Reminds me of a make up brush roll.

DontKnowWhatImDoingHere · 04/05/2016 09:40

I'm now the proud owner of a Lamy Safari in pink with converter and medium nib and a bottle of Diamine ink in Eclipse Smile So far I'm impressed.

Are you pleased with the ink colour? I quite fancy the diamine grey with the shimmer. Or the eau de nil - feel guilty for buying more pens though so trying to wait myself wait until DH is away.

HawthornLantern · 04/05/2016 16:31

Jumps up and down. Me too, me too. I have the Pink Safari (its purchase may or may not have been at a later date than the start of this thread...) and I have put Iroshizuku Kosumosu (pink) ink in it. It's been wonderful to annotate stuff at work which is purely for my own use...

EnormousDormouse · 04/05/2016 18:53

I have bought my brother a Leuchtterm notebook for his birthday (he had 'liked' them on Facebook so it's a pretty safe bet that (a) the gift will be well received and (b) that the stationery fetish has a genetic component). I'd like to get him a pen/pens to go with it. I'm pretty sure he's more into fineliner types than fountain or ballpens. Any recommendations? We are not big spenders on prezzies - I know he'd prefer well functioning 'basic' ones(s) rather than stylish/money on the brand type things.

stealthsquiggle · 04/05/2016 21:16

Dormouse - I really like V pens here - write smoothly enough for lovely paper, but aren't so expensive that I beat myself up if/when I lose one.
