Can we have a topic where name changing is not allowed?

Lots of people feel the 'atmosphere' has been somewhat lost, due to MN becoming so big and so many people name changing for dubious reasons.

So how about a new topic where name changing is not allowed?

So to post in that section, you choose a different name (much like in Mumsnet local). But you have to stick to that name only.

That way, in that section at least, there would be less arses/goady fuckers/Billy bullshitters and drama llamas, hiding behind name changes.

People will become 'regulars' again (in that section at least) and when you go there to chat, you'll at least 'recognise' other people.

OK I'm sure there are 1 million reasons why this is a stupid idea/impossible to set up, but can anyone think of them? Grin

Harvey Specter, now there's a man, and my future DH

Current DH isn't aware of this plan yet

Gazelda · 29/12/2015 22:31

but what if I'm not witty? Or well known?

I've been around for 8 years, and been quoted in the weekly round-up twice, does that qualify me?

OMG. DB programme has finished. Just found the remote and Flowers in the Attic is on on Channel 5. Remember that? Scary.

Christinayangstwistedsista · 29/12/2015 22:32

Fab book

Sparklingbrook · 29/12/2015 22:33

It's Rylan Maryz. Grin

Right - the puppy is running laps of the house in the classic "tired, who me? You're having a laugh" way, so I think I may go to bed on the grounds that it's exhausting watching him.

Thanks Worra for starting this thread Flowers and night all x

Stratter5 · 29/12/2015 22:33

Worra's gravy recipe hasn't put me off at all, I really badly want KFC now, and it's a 30 mile round trip :(

You don't need to be witty or well known. Just a member for more than 3 months or 6 months or whatever time frame MNHQ think appropriate. And don't be goady of course.

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 29/12/2015 22:33

Flowers in the Attic that rings a bell, what's it about?

Sparklingbrook · 29/12/2015 22:36

Everyday tale of keeping children locked in the loft and incest IIRC, there was a series.

TheSpectreOfMorningtonCrescent · 29/12/2015 22:38

I'm just trying to keep up. My brain hurts. Who mentioned hot chocolate? Dd does that- I may have introduced her to a decent slug of baileys in it. My gods.
Right off ski. I got the house cold and I've gone deaf in one ear. Unfortunately it's not the side Dh is on. Badoomtish!

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 29/12/2015 22:41

Beckam's voice is really different isn't it?

Has he had coaching?

Or just too much gravy?

WorraLiberty · 29/12/2015 22:42

Night Scone Thanks

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 29/12/2015 22:43

He's had coaching I reckon to deepen it.

WorraLiberty · 29/12/2015 22:43

I'd quite like to dip my chips in Beckham's man gravy.

Yes! The donuts with "sugar" on.

That does relate to Flowers in the Attic, not me being random again Grin that book was passed around my whole class when it came out.

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 29/12/2015 22:44

I am missing the 'Beckham attraction ' gene. He leaves me a bit cold.

Sparklingbrook · 29/12/2015 22:50

Maryz you aren't missing much TBF. No idea why you can't see it though. Sad
