Can we have a topic where name changing is not allowed?

Lots of people feel the 'atmosphere' has been somewhat lost, due to MN becoming so big and so many people name changing for dubious reasons.

So how about a new topic where name changing is not allowed?

So to post in that section, you choose a different name (much like in Mumsnet local). But you have to stick to that name only.

That way, in that section at least, there would be less arses/goady fuckers/Billy bullshitters and drama llamas, hiding behind name changes.

People will become 'regulars' again (in that section at least) and when you go there to chat, you'll at least 'recognise' other people.

OK I'm sure there are 1 million reasons why this is a stupid idea/impossible to set up, but can anyone think of them? Grin

I used to like football till I was 10 and the boys decided girls weren't allowed to play footer anymore and chased me off the primary school pitch.

Quite like cricket and tennis, and horsey things like 3-day eventing, but honestly would not really care if all competitive sports ended tomorrow and people just played games for fun.

I like most booze.

I have never had KFC gravy.

Justanotherlurker · 29/12/2015 21:57

I know the thread has moved on somewhat and I'm not really friendly with anyone but I agree with worra, if we can't have this then I suggest a limit on name changes on a 24/48hr basis and if you have posted on a thread under a different name it is either locked to them personally or have to post under their original name for the duration of the thread.

Very easy to implement from a technical view point, though not sure if it is already in place as I have never name changed

SconeInSixtySeconds · 29/12/2015 21:57

My parents were not the takeaway types Sad and as a result I had never tried Chinese curry until I was in my 20s.

I have since made up for it Grin

Stratter5 · 29/12/2015 21:57

I don't think it would be, Sparks. A pop star is a bit too 'modern', perhaps ?

Don't want to know about nasty bits in kfc gravy.

Christinayangstwistedsista · 29/12/2015 22:01

OddSocksHighHeels · 29/12/2015 22:02

Oh I've had the Maccy D breakfast in a wrap. Quite nice.

DramaAlpaca · 29/12/2015 22:03

Oooh, I used to love a vesta curry.

I asked DS what's in KFC. He says even the employees aren't allowed to know Confused

WorraLiberty · 29/12/2015 22:04

KFC gravy is made from the sludge at the bottom of the deep frier

They scrape all the chickeny bits together to make it.

Still didn't put me off though Grin

Odd I pulled out a big brown flat thing. Sausage apparently. Shock I still can't decide whether I like hash browns. It was a very confusing breakfast.

MrsVamos · 29/12/2015 22:05

Up there with ready meals like chicken supreme or sweet n sour chicken.

Mmmmmnnn.

Sparklingbrook · 29/12/2015 22:06

OddSocksHighHeels · 29/12/2015 22:07

Breakfast wrap from Wetherspoons is better though. Mmmmm.

MrsVamos · 29/12/2015 22:07

Its crispy chicken, Worra that's all !

Very crispy. Made soggy by gravy. Is the gravy bisto ? Or is that a secret recipe too ?

Could I re-create it at home ?

Christinayangstwistedsista · 29/12/2015 22:07

Are you talking about the big brown flat thing?

MrsVamos · 29/12/2015 22:08

Weatherspoons chips with mint sauce & mayo squirted over. Delicious.
